Miss South Africa 2023: Meet the Top 12 finalists

From the Top 30, only 12 beauties will now move on to the finals of Miss South Africa 2023 this August

The Top 12 finalists vying for the title of Miss South Africa 2023 have been officially announced on Thursday, June 8 exclusively on the Miss South Africa app.

Former Miss South Africa Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, award-winning fashion designer and stylist Nobukhosi Nkosi, and Miss South Africa Organisation's CEO Stephanie Weil were part of the selection panel.

According to the organizers, this year's competition boasts an impressive group of contestants consisting of a lawyer, a sport scientist, a pharmacist, and a four-time graduate who has degrees in psychology and medical sociology.

One of them will be crowned as the successor of last year's winner Ndavi Nokeri on Sunday, August 13 at Sun International’s flagship venue, the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria.

Presented by Weil Entertainment in association with Sun International, the final show promises to be a spectacular and entertainment-packed show and will fittingly take place during Women’s Month.

Crown Chasers, a reality series exclusively on the pageant's official app, showcases the finalists as they are placed in real-life Miss South Africa scenarios that include several challenges based on the four pillars – duty, championship, empowerment, and beauty.

Miss World 2026 is Joheirry Mola from the Dominican Republic

Joheirry Mola Dominguez from the Dominican Republic bested 110 other contestants to win Miss World 2026 on Saturday, September in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The 24-year-old model, teacher, news correspondent and advocate received the coveted crown and sash from her predecessor Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand. She became the second woman from the Dominican Republic to become Miss World next to Mariasela Álvarez who won in 1982. Elisabeth Reynés of Spain and Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia were announced the second and third placers, respectively. Caitlin Worthington was declared the winner of Miss Universe Australia 2026 at the national final on Wednesday, August 26, held at the Crown Melbourne. The 28-year-old radiographer and model from Brisbane succeeds her predecessor Lexie Brant. She will represent Australia at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant in Puerto Rico this November. Sixty finalists, chosen from the initial round of the competition, graced the runway, displaying creations from local designers representing their countries. Miss World 2026: Meet the continental winners of the Head-to-Head Challenge

The Head-to-Head Challenge for Miss World 2026 took place on August 22 and 24 at the Khanh Hoa Children's Palace in Nha Trang, Vietnam. During the event, all contestants presented themselves and shared speeches about their initiatives. From each continental group, five contestants were selected to move on to the second round, where four continental winners were determined. The continental winners were Romanda Hombir from South Africa, Georgia-Lee Gill from Trinidad and Tobago, Asia Rose Simpson from the Philippines, and Julia Kühnle from Germany. By winning their respective continental groups, they have already earned their spots in the Top 40.
