Kim Su-jin, a 25-year-old fashion design graduate and broadcaster from Daegu will represent Korea at Miss International 2022 in Japan. Prior to being appointed as Miss International Korea 2022, she was named first runner-up during last year's Miss Korea pageant. She also has just recently relinquished her reign as Miss Gyeongbuk 2021. Following a 2-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 60th Miss International edition will take place at the Tokyo Dome City Hall on Tuesday, December 13. Since Korea's debut at the Japan-based international pageant in 1960, it has yet to win the coveted title. The country's highest placements so far were two first runner-up finishes in 2000 and 2009. Indonesia's Riskyana Hidayat beat over 30 other contestants to be crowned Miss Aura International 2022 on Saturday, September 24 in Antalya, Turkey. The 25-year-old model and entrepreneur succeeded last year's winner from the Philippines, Alexandra Faith Garcia. She is the first Indonesian representative to win the international title. Nanette Indriago of Venezuela was named first runner-up while Yulia Dashkovskaya of Ukraine, Miruna Doldor of Romania, and Carina Proscurnea of Bulgaria were announced the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Mayuko Hanawa was crowned Miss Supranational Japan 2022 on Saturday, September 24 at the Kanda Myojin Hall in Tokyo. The 27-year-old Japanese-Filipino teacher who represented the Ibaraki Prefecture will now prepare to compete in the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland. Miss Aichi, Ayano Shinkawa, 28, and Miss Shizuoka, Riho Sasaki, 22, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. A total of 18 finalists were selected to participate in the national final.
