Miss France 2021 is Miss Normandie Amandine Petit

Miss Normandie, Amandine Petit was crowned Miss France 2021 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, December 19 at the Grand Carrousel of Puy du Fou in Les Epesses, Pays de la Loire.

The 23-year-old student from Caen beat 28 other beauties from across her country to win the coveted title. She succeeds last year’s winner from Guadeloupe, Clémence Botino.

“The modern woman is a strong woman who defends beautiful values and today by being there, present in front of you, I embody this modern woman who shows how far we are moving forward,” she answered in the Top 5 question and answer round.

Miss Provence, April Benayoum was named first runner-up and Miss Côte d’Azur Lara Gautier clinched the second runner-up position. Miss Alsace, Aurélie Roux, and Miss Burgundy, Lou-Anne Lorphelin were the third runner-up and fourth runners-up, respectively.

This year’s Miss France marked the 91st edition of the prestigious pageant. The competition also celebrated its centenary as it was first held in 1920.

The winner was determined by 50 percent from the public votes and 50 percent from the selection committee of former queens chaired by Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere.

Amandine will either represent France at the next Miss World or Miss Universe pageant. Her assigned international competition is yet to be announced.

France has won one Miss World courtesy of Denise Perrier in 1953 and two Miss Universe, Christiane Martel in 1953 and Iris Mittenaere in 2016.
