Miss Universe Nepal 2021 is Sujita Basnet


Sujita Basnet was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2021 in a national competition held on Saturday, October 30 at the Hotel Yak & Yeti in Durbar Marg, Kathmandu.

The 28-year-old US resident is a management consultant who holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical/medical engineering. She was last year's runner-up to her predecessor, Anshika Sharma.

Nina Kant Mandal was named first runner-up while Rakchya Upreti secured the second runner-up finish. Pratiksha Chhetri and Keshu Khadka were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

The new Miss Universe Nepal is the founder of LiberatED, a program that aims to empower and uplift the youth from under-resourced communities through education, leadership training, and access to resources.

Sujita will now prepare to represent Nepal at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December.
