Miss Universe France Clémence Botino tests positive for COVID-19 in Israel


Miss Universe France Clémence Botino will be isolated for 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Israel.

The 24-year-old beauty who hails from Guadeloupe came to Israel to participate in the 70th Miss Universe pageant to be held on December 12. Unfortunately, her test results came back positive for the viral infection. 

In a statement shared on her social media account, she said: "I was shocked and sad, it is truly hard. I'm a really positive person and I work really hard, and the past two years have been tough."

"Even if it is hard I won't give up. Life has brought me to Israel and everything is ready. Every situation is supposed to make us stronger," she added.

Clémence also encouraged her followers to be safe "because the virus is still here."

There is no confirmation yet if she will be able to continue with participation in the upcoming Miss Universe final competition should her test comes back negative after isolating.

Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand beat 107 other contestants to be crowned Miss World 2025 on Saturday, May 31 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Opal Suchata Chuangsri was officially proclaimed Miss World Thailand 2025 in a special press presentation held on Tuesday, April 22 in Bangkok. The 22-year-old political science major at Thammasat University will represent Thailand at Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad ( Telangana), India this May. Korea will be represented at the 71st Miss Universe pageant by Hanna Kim. The 27-year-old model currently based in New York City was appointed as Miss Universe Korea 2022 last April. She was the first runner-up during last year's national competition. Apart from modeling, Hanna is a linguist and interpreter, who specialized in clinical trials. She is also a skilled classical ballet dancer. "Words cannot describe how honored I am to be representing Korea at the 71st edition of Miss Universe," she shared on social media.
