Miss Universe France Clémence Botino tests positive for COVID-19 in Israel


Miss Universe France Clémence Botino will be isolated for 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Israel.

The 24-year-old beauty who hails from Guadeloupe came to Israel to participate in the 70th Miss Universe pageant to be held on December 12. Unfortunately, her test results came back positive for the viral infection. 

In a statement shared on her social media account, she said: "I was shocked and sad, it is truly hard. I'm a really positive person and I work really hard, and the past two years have been tough."

"Even if it is hard I won't give up. Life has brought me to Israel and everything is ready. Every situation is supposed to make us stronger," she added.

Clémence also encouraged her followers to be safe "because the virus is still here."

There is no confirmation yet if she will be able to continue with participation in the upcoming Miss Universe final competition should her test comes back negative after isolating.

Nadia Mejia-Webb crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025

Nadia Mejia-Webb, representing Comunidad USA, was crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 26 at Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil. The 29-year-old model and singer will now prepare to represent Ecuador at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Daphne Currat of Tungurahua and Christie Termidor of Región Sierra were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Sala Placido Domingo (Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas) in Zapopan, Jalisco. The 24-year-old designer from Teapa, Tabasco triumphed over 30 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Meet the winners of Miss Turkey 2025

The glittering Miss Turkey 2025 national competition was held last December 19 at the Lazzoni Hotel in Istanbul. A total of 20 stunning finalists were chosen to compete for the national titles that were at stake — Miss Turkey World and Miss Turkey Supranational. Kaori Hashimoto was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, July 16 in Shibuya. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Saki Fujita and Reina Ishii were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Chiemi Takayama and Naomi Monique Kamidate were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Kaya Chakrabortty, last year's winner who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2024 held in Mexico, crowned her successor at the end of the event. The 22-year-old pharmacy student and model of Italian and Gabonese descent succeeds last year's winner Karen Jansen. Miss Universe 2025, the 74th Miss Universe competition is set to take place on Friday, November 21 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark will hand over her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event.
