Indonesia to host Miss Grand International 2022


Indonesia has been officially announced as the host country of the 10th year anniversary of Miss Grand International.

The announcement was made during the Miss Grand International 2021 final competition held at the SHOW DC Hall in Bangkok, Thailand on December 4.

Miss Grand Indonesia National Director Ivan Gunawan was welcomed onto the stage during the show so MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil can officially entrust the right to host next year's grand edition.

The Miss Grand International 2022 final competition will take place on October 25, 2022, in the beautiful city of Jakarta, Indonesia.

FAVORITES: Miss Universe Philippines 2025 grand coronation night

Miss Universe Philippines 2025, the sixth edition of the annual pageant has culminated last night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Heavy favorite Maria Ahtisa Manalo, 27, from Candelaria, Quezon Province, bagged the crown among 66 contestants following a tough competition. She will compete in Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. The Philippines last won the Miss Universe crown in 2018 with Catriona Gray when the pageant was held in Bangkok, Thailand. This year, with another strong representation expected from the country, especially since it's being held in the same host location, the possibility of clinching the fifth crown seems quite achievable. Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 on Friday, May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The 27-year-old from  Candelaria bested 65 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Ahtisa is a former  Binibining Pilipinas International titleholder who went on to place first runner-up at the Miss International 2018 competition in Japan. She eventually joined Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and finished second runner-up. The national organization then awarded her the title of Miss Cosmo Philippines. Firsta Yufi Amarta Putri was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2025 on Saturday, May 2 at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta International Convention Center in Jakarta. A total of 45 contestants from across the country battled it out to win the national title but the 23-year-old representative of Jawa Timur (East Java) emerged as the top winner. The rest of the Top 4 were Melliza Xaviera Putri Yulian of Jakarta SCR 1, Salma Ranggita of Sumatera Selatan 1, and Rinanda Maharani of Kalimantan Timur. Seven deserving winners who will represent the Philippines at various international male pageants have been chosen among 26 contestants. Miss Southern Plains, Diane Westhoven was crowned Miss Alabama USA 2024 during the state final on Saturday, June 1 at Auburn University's Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center. The 21-year-old student from Birmingham will now prepare to represent Alabama at Miss USA 2024 this summer in Hollywood, California.
