Miss Grand International 2022 Sportswear Competition was held on Sunday, October 9 at Bebek Tepi Sawah in Bali, Indonesia. The contestants strutted the runway wearing their sportswear outfits in the middle of Balinese rice fields. The official sashing ceremony for the contestants of the Miss Grand International 2022 pageant took place on Wednesday, October 5 at The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa in Bali, Indonesia. Sixty-six of the 72 confirmed contestants were present at the special event to receive their country sashes from the reigning Miss Grand International Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien of Vietnam. Miss Grand International 2022: Sashing Ceremony, Top 10 Pre-Arrival special dinner

The Miss Grand International 2022 pageant kicked off on Wednesday, October 5 with the contestants' official sashing ceremony at The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa in Bali, Indonesia. Hosted by a former winner from 2014, Lees Garcia of Cuba, the show streamed live on the official Facebook page of Miss Grand International. MGI Vice President Teresa Chaivisut opened the ceremony and revealed that the final Top 10 will have their own crowns and stay for one more week in Indonesia after the coronation on October 25 in Jakarta. Before the official sashing commenced, reigning Miss Grand International Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien gave a short speech and shared with the contestants some helpful advice as they are competing for the golden crown. With the beautiful Bali beach as the backdrop to the ceremony, a total of 66 contestants from around the world received their official sashes from the Vietnamese queen. Karina Fariza Basrewan has been officially announced by Mahakarya Duta Pesona Indonesia as Miss Earth Indonesia 2022 on Friday, September 30. The 26-year-old SEA Today news anchor, community manager and brand ambassador will represent her country at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines this November. Indonesia's Riskyana Hidayat beat over 30 other contestants to be crowned Miss Aura International 2022 on Saturday, September 24 in Antalya, Turkey. The 25-year-old model and entrepreneur succeeded last year's winner from the Philippines, Alexandra Faith Garcia. She is the first Indonesian representative to win the international title. Nanette Indriago of Venezuela was named first runner-up while Yulia Dashkovskaya of Ukraine, Miruna Doldor of Romania, and Carina Proscurnea of Bulgaria were announced the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Sulawesi Utara, Audrey Vanessa Susilo was crowned Miss Indonesia 2022 on Thursday, September 15 at Studio RCTI+ in Jakarta. The 22-year-old Monash University student representing the North Sulawesi province bested 36 other contestants to win her national title. She was also announced as the winner of the Talent and Social Media fast track. Completing the Top 5 finalists were first runner-up Ida Ayu Laksmi of Bali, second runner-up Alyssandra Winyoto of Jawa Timur, third runner-up Angelina Aqila of Kalimantan Barat, and fourth runner-up Naomy Angelica Sembiring of Riau. The Polish beauty will be a special guest this time during the Miss Indonesia 2022 final this Thursday. Miss Indonesia 2022: 37 finalists compete for the title on September 15

A total of 37 finalists representing the provinces of Indonesia will compete for Miss Indonesia 2022 next Thursday, September 15 in Jakarta. Due to the expansion of Papua Province, three new provinces are being represented this year - the Papua Selatan (South Papua), Papua Tengah (Central Papua), and Papua Pegunungan (Highland Papua). An official press conference took place on Friday, September 9 at MNC Studios to formally introduce the finalists to the media. This year's pageant will be the 17th edition of Miss Indonesia. No competition was held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pricilia Carla Yules, who won the title in 2020, placed in the Top 6 and bagged the Miss World Asia title at the 70th Miss World final last March in Puerto Rico. For the fourth time in its 10-year history, the Miss Grand International Organization has introduced a new crown for its 10th anniversary edition in Bali and Jakarta, Indonesia this October. The "golden crown" was made by jewelry designer from Venezuela, George Wittels, and will be worn by 2022, 2023, and 2024 Miss Grand International winners. Miss Grand International 2022 will take place at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) on October 25. The grand final show will stream live on its official YouTube channel Grand TV. Over 40 contestants have already been confirmed so far to participate in the upcoming international event where the reigning queen Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien of Vietnam will crown her successor. Miss Bali, Laksmi Shari De Neefe Suardana, was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2022 (Miss Universe Indonesia) on Friday, May 27 at the Jakarta Convention Center. The 26-year-old marketing manager bested 43 other contestants to win her title. She succeeds Puteri Indonesia 2020 Ayu Maulida Putri and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2022. Cindy May McGuire of Jakarta was named Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2022 while Adinda Cresheilla of East Java clinched the title Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2022. They will be sent to Miss International and Miss Supranational pageants, respectively. Nadia Tjoa of Indonesia was crowned Miss Face of Humanity 2022 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, April 2 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto, Canada. The 27-year-old old architecture graduate, model, and entrepreneur bested 16 other contestants to win the international pageant. As its global ambassador, she will advocate youth and women empowerment around the world. After some deliberation and close interview with some contestants, Miss Grand Indonesia national director Ivan Gunawan appointed Andina Julie as Miss Grand Indonesia 2022. The 21-year-old model and singer from South Sumatra will represent her country at the Miss Grand International 2022 competition later this year. Andina succeeds Miss Grand Indonesia 2021 and Miss Grand International Top 10 finalist Sophia Rogan. Her official crowning ceremony will take place this February with the new crown.
