Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2022: Meet the contestants


Trinidad and Tobago last joined Miss Universe in 2017 and after five years, the country is all set to return to the prestigious pageant.

Last June, Trinidad and Tobago's leading pageant academy Crowns & Sashes has been announced as the country's new franchisee for Miss Universe.

A total of 24 beautifully confident women have been chosen to participate in the upcoming national competition and the lucky winner will represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant.

Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2022 "The Return" coronation night will take place this Sunday, September 11 at Queen’s Hall, St. Ann's, Port of Spain.

Miss Uganda 2023 is Hannah Karema Tumukunde

Hannah Karema Tumukunde has been crowned Miss Uganda 2023/2024 in a glittering show held on Saturday, March 18 at UMA Multipurpose Hall in Kampala, Uganda. The 20-year-old model from Nakaseke bested 20 other competitors to win her national title. She succeeded Elizabeth Bagaya and will prepare to represent Uganda at the 71st Miss World in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a date yet to be announced. Whitney Martha Ademum and Premah Prossy Agwang were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Jesca Sserwadda and Jerusha Muwanguzi were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Hosted by Mitch Egwang and Anita Fabiola, this year's final event marked the return of the Miss Uganda pageant following a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Vietnam's Le Thao Nhi will no longer compete in Miss Universe 2023

Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 first runner-up Le Thao Nhi will no longer be able to join Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador later this year. The reason shared by the new Miss Universe Vietnam organization was due to agreement issues with Unicorp, the previous license holder and organizers of Hoa Hậu Hoàn Vũ Việt Nam. Despite Miss Universe's preference for its contestants to be winners only from annually organized national pageants, they were asked to consider Thao Nhi's participation in honor of Unicorp's huge contribution to the development of the brand in the country. But since an agreement could not be reached between the national organizations involved, a new worthy representative will be chosen to represent Vietnam at the 72nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Thailand 2023 is Chonnikarn Supittayaporn of Chiang Mai

Miss Chiang Mai, Chonnikarn Supittayaporn, was crowned Miss Thailand 2023 on Sunday, March 19 at the Central Chaengwattana in Nonthaburi, Bangkok. The 24-year-old model and pharmacy graduate of Chiang Mai University succeeded last year's winner Manita Farmer and will now prepare to represent Thailand at the 71st Miss World (Miss World 2023) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sakhon Nakhon's Marisa Phonthirat was named the first runner-up while Phatthalung's Arabella Sitanan Gregory finished as the second runner-up. Kanokporn Payungwong of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Supansa Wattananusit of Amnat Charoen were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss New Jersey USA 2023 is Derby Chukwudi

Derby Chukwudi was named Miss New Jersey USA 2023 on Sunday, March 19 at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey. The 25-year-old Hoboken resident hails from Nigeria. She is a graduate of Berea College in Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics. Christine Pierre, Rashmi Naik, Katarina Lengyel, and Vritti Patel rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Derby was crowned by her predecessor Alexandra Lakhman and she will now prepare to represent New Jersey at Miss USA 2023 national final in Reno, Nevada. This is her second attempt at the state pageant. She previously joined in 2021 but unfortunately failed to make it to the semifinals. Hosted by former Miss Earth USA and Miss New York USA Andreia Gibau, the event also culminated with another winner — Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava. Miss Vermont USA 2023 is Jenna Howlett

Miss Addison County USA, Jenna Howlett, was crowned Miss Vermont USA 2023 on Saturday, March 25 at the Barre Opera House in Barre City, Vermont. The 20-year-old former Miss Vermont Teen USA is a licensed esthetician, cosmetologist, and founder of Redhead Beauty . She will now represent Vermont at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada. Miss Williston, Kassidy O'Connell, and Miss Barre, Danielle Trottier (also Miss Congeniality), were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Bennington's Lexia Gillette was awarded Miss Photogenic. Arlette Rujel of Peru was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 during the pageant's final competition held on Saturday, March 25 at the Salón Sirionó Fexpocruz in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The 23-year-old professional model bested 28 other competitors to become the first Peruvian woman to win the international title. She succeeded Andrea Bazarte of Mexico. Erik Lennart Visser of the Philippines won the Mr. Universe Tourism 2023 pageant on Sunday, March 19 at Bali Nusa Dua Theatre in Bali, Indonesia. The 24-year-old Filipino-Dutch model and psychology graduate of the Silliman University in Dumaguete City received the crown and sash from his predecessor Surasak "Tor" Muangkeaw of Thailand. Miss Mundo Colombia 2022 is Camila Andrea Pinzon

Camila Andrea Pinzon, representing Boyaca, was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2022 (Miss World Colombia) on Saturday, August 20 in Bogota. The 26-year-old beauty who holds two master's degrees in marketing and business from the Sorbonne University in Paris will represent Colombia at the 71st Miss World pageant. She speaks several languages including French, English, Italian, German, and her native Spanish. Sofia Donado of Magdalena was named Virreina while Eleonora Penagos of Bogota and Miranda Rodríguez of Guaviare were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
