Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2023 is Faith Gillezeau

Faith Gillezeau, representing San Fernando West was crowned Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2023 in a glittering event held on Sunday, July 2 at Queen's Hall in Port of Spain. The 25-year-old pharmacist and athlete will now prepare to represent her country at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this December. She succeeds last year's winner who placed in the Top 16 at Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans last January, Tya Jané Ramey. Miss San Fernando, Jen-ai Mohammed, and Miss Sangre Grande, Dalise Lockhart, were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. The representative of Diego Martin, Latifah Morris, 29, was awarded the title Top Model of the World Trinidad and Tobago 2024 and will compete in the next Top Model of the World competition in Egypt. Miss and Mister Supranational Trinidad and Tobago 2023 officially proclaimed

Trinidad and Tobago's designated representatives for the Miss and Mister Supranational 2023 competitions have been officially proclaimed in an event held at Naparima Bowl in San Fernando. Crowned and sashed Miss Supranational Trinidad and Tobago 2023 is 28-year-old Candiesha Joseph from Gasparillo. She holds a degree in international relations and works as a reservations sales agent for an airline company. The title of Mister Supranational Trinidad and Tobago 2023 was awarded to Keathon Yallery, a 28-year-old actuarial science graduate currently working as a strategic and corporate intelligence specialist for the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The 14th Miss Supranational (Miss Supranational 2023) will be held on July 14 while the 7th Mister Supranational (Mister Supranational 2023) pageant is on July 15 in  Nowy Sącz, Poland. A total of 11 contestants have been selected to take part in the Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2023 (Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2023) pageant. This year's competition, themed "Metamorphosis" held its preliminary event last Tuesday, May 30 at the Naparmia Bowl in San Fernando.  The winner of the much-awaited grand final night this July will represent Trinidad and Tobago at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador later this year while another finalist will be designated for the Top Model of the World. Miss Maracas Valley, Aché Abrahams, was crowned Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2022 in a glittering competition held on Sunday, November 6 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain. The 23-year-old creative artist, a mental health advocate, and social activist residing in Cantaro, Santa Cruz, beat 16 other finalists to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner Jeanine Brandt and will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. Miss Cunupia, Dania Duntin and Miss Arima, Jemima Pierre were respectively announced as the first and second runners-up while Miss Claxton Bay, Janelle Pirmal and Miss San Juan, Savannah Sandy rounded out the Top 5 finalists. The Miss World Trinidad and Tobago (MWTT) 2022 Top Model Competition took place on Saturday, October 15 at the Toyota Showroom South Park in San Fernando. At the end of the competition, Miss Arima (Jemima Pierre), Miss Maracas Valley (Aché Abrahams), and Miss Plymouth (Karielle Ramsden) were announced as the Top 3 and the winner will be revealed during the grand final on Sunday, November 6 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain. Also during the event, Daronte Guadeloupe was chosen as the Top Designer with a custom dress worn by Miss Arima. The winning dress was made from bridal satin and hand painted with acrylic fabric paint and consisted of a bustier and an eight-panel gore coat, paired with bell trousers. It was made with over 10 yards of fabric and evokes regality and epitomizes elegance and sophistication. Seventeen young women were selected to compete in the upcoming Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2022 final. They were officially revealed last September 4 at The Brix, Autograph Collection in Port of Spain. Following a series of pre-pageant activities and training, the final competition will take place on November 6 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA). Last year's winner Jeanine Brandt will crown her successor at the culmination of the event. The next Miss World Trinidad and Tobago will represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant. Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2022 is Tya Jané Ramey

Miss Arouca, Tya Jané Ramey, bested 23 other contestants to win Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2022 on Sunday, September 11 at Queen’s Hall in Port of Spain. The 24-year-old athlete, dancer, alto saxophonist, and social work and social policies graduate is a former Miss World Trinidad and Tobago winner who placed in the Top 40 at Miss World 2019 and was awarded the Miss World Caribbean title. Amanda Ameerali and Tishanna Mitchell were the first and second runners-up, respectively while Sihle Letren, Maya Underwood, and Candiesha Joseph rounded out the Top 6 finalists. Last night's national competition established the return of the twin island country to the Miss Universe pageant after five years. The new Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago, who also bagged the Miss Photogenic award, was crowned by former Miss Universe and one of the judges Wendy Fitzwilliam. She will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in the first quarter of 2023. View

Reigning Miss World Trinidad and Tobago Jeanine Brandt released an official statement on the controversial video clip of her presentation for the 70th Miss World Beauty With A Purpose Head to Head Challenge that circulated on social media. The beauty queen claimed thousands of children in Trinidad and Tobago live in poverty, sleep on cold grounds in makeshift homes, and have limited or no access to running water, food, school, and healthcare. Her critics complained it was an inaccurate portrayal of life in the dual-island Caribbean nation. "Over the past two years, I have worked assiduously through my NGO The Brandt Beauty Foundation to aid and support underprivileged communities. My intention was never to portray our twin-island nation in a negative light or to bring ill repute to the Miss World Trinidad and Tobago Franchise," she said in her official statement. The Miss World Trinidad and Tobago Organization also expressed full support to Jeannie and were disheartened over
