Miss Grand International 2022: Sashing Ceremony, Top 10 Pre-Arrival special dinner


The Miss Grand International 2022 pageant kicked off on Wednesday, October 5 with the contestants' official sashing ceremony at The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa in Bali, Indonesia.

Hosted by a former winner from 2014, Lees Garcia of Cuba, the show streamed live on the official Facebook page of Miss Grand International.

MGI Vice President Teresa Chaivisut opened the ceremony and revealed that the final Top 10 will have their own crowns and stay for one more week in Indonesia after the coronation on October 25 in Jakarta.

Before the official sashing commenced, reigning Miss Grand International Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien gave a short speech and shared with the contestants some helpful advice as they are competing for the golden crown.

With the beautiful Bali beach as the backdrop to the ceremony, a total of 66 contestants from around the world received their official sashes from the Vietnamese queen.

Standouts were Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Crimea, Curacao, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kosovo, Laos, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Ukraine, United States of America, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

Following the event, a special dinner with MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil was held for the highest voted pre-arrival Top 10 contestants from Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Thailand, and Vietnam. This was also streamed live on Facebook.

The next grand event will be the welcoming ceremony and gala dinner for all the contestants with the MGI Organization on Friday, October 7.

Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel visits El Salvador

Fresh from her Paris Fashion Week debut, the reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel of the USA touched down in El Salvador for the first time today. According to the beauty queen, she will be in the Central American country for a week to start filming for the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 competition. "It is my first time here, I'm very excited, I've heard amazing things about El Salvador. I'm looking for some of the best pupusas here in the country and I'm looking forward to just exploring the beauty that this country has to offer," she shared on social media. The 72nd Miss Universe is set to take place in El Salvador on November 18. R'Bonney will crown her successor at the end of the event, just 10 months after she won Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans. Former Miss Earth USA Bea Millan-Windorski joins Miss Universe Philippines 2026

Filipino-American Bea Millan-Windorski has recently been appointed as the official representative for the province of La Union at Miss Universe Philippines 2026. At just 24 years old, she is well-acquainted with the world of pageantry, having participated in Miss Earth USA 2024 in Orlando, Florida, where she clinched the title while representing Wisconsin. This achievement made her the first Filipino-American to secure the national title. As Miss Earth USA, she went on to compete in Miss Earth 2024 in the Philippines, where she impressively placed in the Top 4 out of 76 contestants, earning the title of Miss Earth Water. Miss Grand Thailand 2026 is Patthama Jitsawat of Chonburi

Patthama Jitsawat, representing the Thai province of Chonburi, was crowned Miss Grand Thailand 2026 on Saturday, March 28 at MGI Hall in Bangkok. The 32-year-old beauty edged out 76 other contestants to win the national competition. She succeeds last year's winner Sarunrat Puagpipat of Phuket. Panasaya Angelica Damaagd of Buriram was names first runner-up while Ilin Nabsuk of Phuket, Natthakitta Kerdkanchiroj of Saraburi, and Naruemol Chaloemroek of Sukhothai were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Sigr铆冒ur 脫sk Hrafnkelsd贸ttir, also known as Sigga 脫zk, was crowned Ungfr煤 脥sland 2026 (Miss Iceland 2026) on Wednesday, April 22 at at Gamla B铆贸 in Reykjav铆k. The singer-songwriter from Gar冒ab忙r will now prepare to represent Iceland at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in Puerto Rico this November. Miss Universe Peru 2026 is Luren M谩rquez

Luren M谩rquez was crowned Miss Peru 2026 (Miss Universe Peru) in a special ceremony held on Wednesday, April 15 at the Teatro Municipal del Callao. The 27-year-old television presenter and model received the crown from her predecessor Karla Bacigalupo with the presence of the reigning Miss Universe F谩tima Bosch from Mexico. Sadhvi Sail bested 29 other contestants to win the Femina Miss India 2026 pageant last Saturday, April 18 at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneswar.
