Miss Grand International 2022: Standouts from the national costume competition


The highly anticipated Miss Grand International 2022 National Costume Competition has just concluded at the Sentul International Convention Centre (SICC) in Bogor, Indonesia.

Hosted by former MGI titleholder Lees Garcia, the spectacular show featured 68 of the world's grandest costumes celebrating the national history, culture, and tradition of the contestants.

The standouts were Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ghana, Honduras, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Thailand, United Kingdom, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

This year's winners for Best in National Costume award will be announced during the 10th Miss Grand International final show on Tuesday, October 25 at the same venue.

FAVORITES: Miss Universe Philippines 2025 grand coronation night

Miss Universe Philippines 2025, the sixth edition of the annual pageant has culminated last night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Heavy favorite Maria Ahtisa Manalo, 27, from Candelaria, Quezon Province, bagged the crown among 66 contestants following a tough competition. She will compete in Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. The Philippines last won the Miss Universe crown in 2018 with Catriona Gray when the pageant was held in Bangkok, Thailand. This year, with another strong representation expected from the country, especially since it's being held in the same host location, the possibility of clinching the fifth crown seems quite achievable. The five stunning contestants vying for the title of Miss Universe Curacao 2025 have been officially revealed. Their bio and official photos have been posted on the pageant's social media page. Tonight, 66 of the world's most beautiful and empowered Filipinas will vie for the highly coveted title of Miss Universe Philippines 2025. The much awaited grand coronation night will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena (SM MOA Arena) in Pasay City from 6 p.m. local time. Live streaming is available on  Empire Philippines  official YouTube channel. Puteri Indonesia 2025 is Firsta Yufi Amarta Putri of Jawa Timur

Firsta Yufi Amarta Putri was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2025 on Saturday, May 2 at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta International Convention Center in Jakarta. A total of 45 contestants from across the country battled it out to win the national title but the 23-year-old representative of Jawa Timur (East Java) emerged as the top winner. The rest of the Top 4 were Melliza Xaviera Putri Yulian of Jakarta SCR 1, Salma Ranggita of Sumatera Selatan 1, and Rinanda Maharani of Kalimantan Timur. They were respectively crowned Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan, Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata, and Puteri Indonesia Pendidikan 2025. Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 on Friday, May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The 27-year-old from  Candelaria bested 65 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Ahtisa is a former  Binibining Pilipinas International titleholder who went on to place first runner-up at the Miss International 2018 competition in Japan. She eventually joined Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and finished second runner-up. The national organization then awarded her the title of Miss Cosmo Philippines. The Mister Pilipinas Worldwide 2025 national final was held on Monday, April 28 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. Seven deserving winners who will represent the Philippines at various international male pageants have been chosen among 26 contestants. Hosted by former Miss Supranational Philippines and Miss Supranational 2023 first runner-up Pauline AmeIinckx, this year's pageant marked the third edition of the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide competition. Laura Gnjatović beat 13 other contestants to win Miss Universe Croatia 2025 on Monday, April 28 at Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb. The 23-year-old nursing student from Zadar was crowned by her predecessor, last year's winner Zrinka Ćorić. She will now prepare to represent Croatia at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. "This is a dream that has been 8 years in the making for me," said the new National American Miss Alabama who first joined the state pageant when she was 15 years old. Kunda Mwamulima was crowned Miss Universe Zambia 2025 on Saturday, April 20 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) in Lusaka. The 29-year-old registered nurse and model will now prepare to represent Zambia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Kunda is a former Miss Earth Zambia titleholder who competed in Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam. She also joined the Top Model of the World competition in Egypt and made the Top 16.
