Miss Universe Laos 2022 is Payengxa Lor


Payengxa Lor was crowned Miss Universe Laos 2022 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, October 8 at the Grand Ballroom of Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane.

The 21-year-old business management student at the Lao-American College bested 19 other finalists to win the national title. She succeeds Tonkham Phonchanheuang and will now prepare to represent Laos at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, the USA this January.

Phaimany Lathsabanthao and Lattana Munvilay were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Soudthida Bounluetai and Souphaphone Houngheuang completed the Top 5 finalists.

The new Miss Universe Laos is also an English teacher and a co-founder of the Hmong Women Network, a platform for women empowerment. She volunteers to help the poor and in the future, she wants to build her own school to influence the young generation to believe in themselves and have a dream.

This year's national competition themed "The Change Is Now" was the fifth edition of the Miss Universe Laos pageant.

Laos first joined Miss Universe in 2017 with Souphaphone Somvichith. The country's highest achievement was the Best in National Costume award in 2018 with On-anong Homsombath's costume inspired by the mythical Kinnaree.

Olivia Yace to represent Côte d'Ivoire at Miss Universe 2025

Olivia Yace has been officially appointed by the Miss Côte d'Ivoire Committee (COMICI) as Miss Universe Côte d'Ivoire 2025. An official announcement was made by the national pageant organization on Wednesday, July 23 thru social media. They wrote, "Join us in celebrating Olivia as she embarks along with COMICI in this exciting journey, representing our country on the global stage." Olivia is a 27-year-old model and tourism ambassador of her country. She will now prepare to represent Côte d'Ivoire at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. She is no stranger to pageantry, having won Miss Côte d'Ivoire 2021 and went on to participate in the 70th Miss World in Puerto Rico where she finished second runner-up. Miss Universe Japan 2025 is Kaori Hashimoto from Tochigi Prefecture

Kaori Hashimoto was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, July 16 in Shibuya. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Saki Fujita and Reina Ishii were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Chiemi Takayama and Naomi Monique Kamidate were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Kaya Chakrabortty, last year's winner who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2024 held in Mexico, crowned her successor at the end of the event. Danielle Latimer beat over 30 other contestants to win Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 on Saturday, July 26 at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. The 36-year-old entrepreneur, stylist and photographer will represent Great Britain at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Nadia Mejia-Webb, representing Comunidad USA, was crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 26 at Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil. The 29-year-old model and singer will now prepare to represent Ecuador at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Lina Luaces was crowned Miss Universe Cuba 2025 in a national competition held last July 8 at Milander Park in Hialeah, Florida, USA. The 22-year-old model representing Santiago de Cuba succeeds last year's winner Marianela Ancheta who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico.
