Miss Grand Philippines pageant officially launched


Miss Grand Philippines, the first national competition exclusively for Miss Grand International after leaving Binibining Pilipinas, was officially launched in a press conference held on Thursday, November 24 at Hilton Manila.

Attending the event were the MGI executives, reigning queen Isabella Menin of Brazil and her court of runners-up from Indonesia, Andina Julie, Venezuela, Luiseth Materán, Czech Republic, Mariana Bečková, Puerto Rico, Oxana Rivera, Spain, Hirisley Jimenez, Colombia, Priscilla Londoño, Cambodia, Pich Votey Saravody, and the Philippines, Roberta Tamondong.

MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil took the opportunity to apologize to Filipino fans for whatever happened in the past and encouraged them to leave the past behind and move forward together and whatever. He is looking forward to the first winner from the Philippines in the nearest future, someone who possesses the right qualities and is willing to work with the MGI organization.

The new national director, entrepreneur Arnold Vegafria, officially welcomed the new franchise in addition to Miss World, Miss Supranational, Miss Eco International, and Reina Hispanoamericana.

"This has long been a big dream for me to forge a meaningful alliance with one of the most prestigious pageants in the world. We now embark on a new chapter as we proudly claim the official Philippine franchise of Miss Grand International. I will do my best to make our relationship flourish and to support each other's charities and advocacies," he said.

Details for the upcoming Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant are yet to be announced.

Breea Yamat was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2024 during the state final competition held on Friday, April 19 at Royal Hawaii Center Theater. The 27-year-old Mexican-Filipina beauty from Oahu will now prepare to represent Hawaii at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California in August. She succeeds last year's winner,  Savannah Gankiewicz , who placed first runner-up at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada last September. Miss Michigan USA 2024 is Alma Cooper

Miss Okemos, Alma Cooper was crowned Miss Michigan USA 2024 on Sunday, April 21 at McMorran Entertainment Center in Port Huron, Michigan. The 22-year-old scholar, advocate and US Army officer will now prepare to represent Michigan at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California this August. Alma holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. The second lieutenant officer is also a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, currently pursuing her master's degree in data science at Stanford University in California. She succeeds last year's winner, Alexis Fagan-Williams. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024: Meet the contestants

The official contestants vying for Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024 were finally revealed on Thursday, April 18 at the mayor's office in San Juan. This year's competition will have 28 of the island's most beautiful women selected to compete for the coveted national title. One of them will be the successor of Karla Guilfú Acevedo, reigning Miss Universe Puerto Rico and Miss Universe 2023 Top 5 finalists. R'Bonney Gabriel to host Miss Universe Philippines 2024 final show

The Miss Universe Philippines organization has officially announced former Miss Universe of the USA, R'Bonney Gabriel as host of the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night. To recall, R'Bonney was crowned Miss Universe 2022 during the the 71st Miss Universe pageant held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans in January 2023. The Filipino-American fashion designer became the second Asian-American woman to win the Miss Universe title since Brook Lee (Miss Universe 1997) and so far, the oldest winner at 28 years old, succeeding Andrea Meza of Mexico. Justýna Zedníková has been officially crowned Miss Supranational Czech Republic 2024 in a special crowning ceremony held on Saturday, April 20 at Duplex in Prague. The 21-year-old fashion model will now prepare to represent the Czech Republic at Miss Supranational 2024 on July 6 in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
