Miss Grand Philippines pageant officially launched


Miss Grand Philippines, the first national competition exclusively for Miss Grand International after leaving Binibining Pilipinas, was officially launched in a press conference held on Thursday, November 24 at Hilton Manila.

Attending the event were the MGI executives, reigning queen Isabella Menin of Brazil and her court of runners-up from Indonesia, Andina Julie, Venezuela, Luiseth Mater谩n, Czech Republic, Mariana Be膷kov谩, Puerto Rico, Oxana Rivera, Spain, Hirisley Jimenez, Colombia, Priscilla Londo帽o, Cambodia, Pich Votey Saravody, and the Philippines, Roberta Tamondong.

MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil took the opportunity to apologize to Filipino fans for whatever happened in the past and encouraged them to leave the past behind and move forward together and whatever. He is looking forward to the first winner from the Philippines in the nearest future, someone who possesses the right qualities and is willing to work with the MGI organization.

The new national director, entrepreneur Arnold Vegafria, officially welcomed the new franchise in addition to Miss World, Miss Supranational, Miss Eco International, and Reina Hispanoamericana.

"This has long been a big dream for me to forge a meaningful alliance with one of the most prestigious pageants in the world. We now embark on a new chapter as we proudly claim the official Philippine franchise of Miss Grand International. I will do my best to make our relationship flourish and to support each other's charities and advocacies," he said.

Details for the upcoming Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant are yet to be announced.

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2025 is Zashely Alicea Rivera

Zashely Alicea Rivera, representing Dorado, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2025 on Thursday, August 14 at Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. The 25-year-old psychology graduate, professional ballet dancer and model will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Samarys Barbot Arroyo of Jayuya was named first runner-up while Isys Arimar Santos Crespo of  Vieques, Marisabel Rivera Negr贸n of Ponce and  Aneichka Maldonado Torres of Can贸vanas were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Universe Canada 2025 is Jaime VandenBerg

Jaime VandenBerg was announced the winner of Miss Universe Canada 2025 on Saturday, August 9 at the Chrysler Theatre in Windsor, Ontario. The 28-year-old international model and actress from Lethbridge, Alberta will represent Canada at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Karmen Brar was named first runner-up while Jabili Kandula, Malayika Kwizera, and Kamuahao Hei weret the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Universe Canada was crowned by her predecessor Ashley Callingbull who made the Top 12 at Miss Universe 2024 held last November in Mexico. Queensland's Lexie Brant was proclaimed the winner of Miss Universe Australia 2025 on Friday, August 15 at Crown Perth in Burswood, Western Australia. The 21-year-old model from Brisbane bested 29 other contestants to win the national competition. She will represent Australia at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Ivy Prempeh was named first runner-up while Cara Mooney, Bianca Black, and Ash Donner were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Ivana Carolina Irizarry, representing Puerto Rico, was crowned Universal Woman 2025 on Saturday, August 10 in Jaipur, India. The 30-year-old model, presenter and businesswoman made history as the first Puerto Rican woman to clinch the international title. She succeeds last year's winner Maria Gigante of the Philippines. Palestine is set to debut at the Miss Universe pageant this year with the recently appointed Miss Universe Palestine 2025 Nadeen Ayoub. The 27-year-old sustainability advocate and founder of Olive Green Academy made the official announcement on social media. Miss Golden State, Kylie Chang was crowned Miss California USA 2025 on Saturday, August 10 at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells. The 20-year-old UC Berkeley student and model succeeded last year's winner Samantha Ramos. She became the first-ever East Asian woman to win Miss California USA.
