Miss Grand Colombia 2023 is María Alejandra López


María Alejandra López was crowned Miss Grand Colombia 2023 in a glittering competition held last Sunday, June 18 at the Mayor Auditorium CUN in Bogota.

The 28-year-old model and industrial engineer from Pereira bested over 20 other competitors to win the national title.

"As an industrial engineer, working with our Colombian indigenous communities, working with people with disabilities like my uncle who has Down syndrome, I want to inspire the world and tell everyone that we are educated people, that we are talented," she answered during the Q&A portion.

"We're not just coffee, emerald, beautiful women, and landscapes. We have so much potential to give to the world and we are already changing the course of our nation," she added.

Yuri Rey from Meta and Valentina Cárdenas from Zona Andina were named the first and second runners-up, respectively.

No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Grand Colombia represented Risaralda at Miss Universe Colombia 2021 where she placed first runner-up to the winner Valeria Ayos.

María Alejandra succeeds last year's titleholder and Miss Grand International 2022 fifth runner-up, Priscilla Londoño. She will now prepare to represent Colombia at Miss Grand International 2023 in Vietnam this October.

The Miss Grand Colombia 2023 final was attended by reigning Miss Grand International from Brazil, Isabella Menin, with Miss Grand International Vice President Teresa Chaivisut.

Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand beat 107 other contestants to be crowned Miss World 2025 on Saturday, May 31 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The 22-year-old beauty has made history for her country as she became the first-ever Thai woman to win the prestigious title. She also won the multimedia fast track challenge. Opal Suchata Chuangsri was officially proclaimed Miss World Thailand 2025 in a special press presentation held on Tuesday, April 22 in Bangkok. The 22-year-old political science major at Thammasat University will represent Thailand at Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad ( Telangana), India this May. Sofiya Tkachuk, 25, from Rivne, has recently been crowned Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 and will represent Ukraine at the 74th Miss Universe pageant. Man of the World 2025, the 7th edition of the annual Man of the World competition was held on Saturday, May 31 at the SM North Edsa Skydome in Quezon City, Philippines. Juul Messiaen, a 23-year-old model, athlete and real estate agent from Málaga, Spain bested over 20 other contestants to win the international male pageant. SPOTLIGHT: Meet Hanna Kim, Miss Universe Korea 2022

Korea will be represented at the 71st Miss Universe pageant by Hanna Kim. The 27-year-old model currently based in New York City was appointed as Miss Universe Korea 2022 last April. She was the first runner-up during last year's national competition. Apart from modeling, Hanna is a linguist and interpreter, who specialized in clinical trials. She is also a skilled classical ballet dancer. "Words cannot describe how honored I am to be representing Korea at the 71st edition of Miss Universe," she shared on social media.
