Colombia's Natalia Rodriguez crowned Miss Sea Beauty International 2023

A 17-year-old student representing Colombia, Natalia Rodriguez Cabarcas bested 11 other competitors to be crowned Miss Sea Beauty International 2023. Carla Mateo of the Dominican Republic was named first runner-up. She was also awarded Miss Silhouette, Miss Internet, and Best National Costume. Aurys Mazenett of Venezuela finished as the second runner-up and bagged the Best Catwalk and Evening Gown awards. Miss Malambo, Amy Luz Barranco, won the titles of Miss Talent and Miss Photogenic. The new Miss Sea Beauty International succeeds last year's winner Nathaly Carrasquero of Margarita Island. This year's event was held from November 22 to 26 and was the second edition of the annual pageant. Next year's competition will again be hosted in Barranquilla. Former Miss Earth Colombia Alejandra Villafañe passes away at the age of 34

Colombian actress and former Miss Earth Colombia Alejandra Villafañe died in Bogotá on October 21 after months of battling cancer. Alejandra was 34 years old and was engaged to actor Raul Ocampo at the time of her death. Messages of sympathy poured in online from her family, friends, and fellow celebrities. Prior to becoming an actress, she was crowned Miss Earth Colombia 2014 and went on to participate in the 14th Miss Earth pageant in the Philippines where she placed in the Top 16. After pageantry, she appeared in numerous telenovelas, television series, and films. Her last project was the film "El Yuppie y El Guiso" by the renowned Colombian film producer and screenwriter Dago García. Maria Camila Avella Montañez was crowned Miss Universe Colombia 2023 in a national competition held on Saturday, September 2 at Centro de Eventos del Caribe in Puerta de Oro, Barranquilla. The 28-year-old model, content creator, and TV host representing Casanare bested over 20 other contestants to win the national title. She made history by being the first ever mother and married woman to become Miss Universe Colombia. Adriana Numa Vega of Norte de Santander and Lina María Hurtado Mosquera of Buenaventura were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The representatives of Atlántico, Sophia Isabel Koepke, Cali, Wendy Michelle Murillo, Risaralda, Valentina Valderrama Patiño, Santander, Nina María Pinzón Zambrano, and Valle, Valentina Cardona Rincón were the rest of the Top 8 finalists. Former Miss Universe Andrea Meza has just arrived in Barranquilla, Colombia as a special guest judge for the upcoming Miss Universe Colombia 2023 pageant. The Mexican model and beauty queen turned Telemundo host was crowned Miss Universe 2020 in May 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. A software engineering graduate and native of Chihuahua, Andrea holds the record for the shortest completed reign in Miss Universe history to date. She is the third winner from Mexico next to Lupita Jones (1991) and Ximena Navarrete (2010). Miss Mundo Colombia 2023 is Catalina Quintero of Amazonas

Catalina Quintero, representing Amazonas, was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2023 (Miss World Colombia 2023) in a national competition held on Saturday, August 12 at Club Militar de Oficiales in Bogotá. The 23-year-old graduate of international business administration with a minor in sustainability from the Universidad de La Sabana will now represent Colombia at the 72nd Miss World (Miss World 2024). Salomé Cuartas of Medellín was named Virreina Miss Mundo Colombia while Luisa Lizcano of Norte de Santander and Jenifer Pulgarín of Meta were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Rounding out the Top 8 were María Antonia Ruiz of Antioquia, Adriana Zayira Castro of Boyacá, Hilsse Barrios of Casanare, and Luisana Muñoz of Magdalena. Maria Camila Sinning Martínez was crowned Reina Internacional del Cacao 2023 (International Queen of Cocoa 2023) on Friday, July 7 at Teatro Pacific in Panama City, Panama. The 25-year-old social communicator and entrepreneur from Colombia bested 17 other competitors to win the title. She succeeds last year's winner from Ecuador Laura Aguilera. No stranger to pageantry, Camila participated in Señorita Colombia 2022 (Miss Colombia 2022) where she placed in the Top 10 while representing Cartagena. This year's Reina Internacional del Cacao competition marked the 4th edition of the international pageant dedicated to the promotion of the chocolate industry. María Alejandra López was crowned Miss Grand Colombia 2023 in a glittering competition held last Sunday, June 18 at the Mayor Auditorium CUN in Bogota. The 28-year-old model and industrial engineer from Pereira bested over 20 other competitors to win the national title. "As an industrial engineer, working with our Colombian indigenous communities, working with people with disabilities like my uncle who has Down syndrome, I want to inspire the world and tell everyone that we are educated people, that we are talented," she answered during the Q&A portion. Miss Earth Caquetá, Luz Adriana López Ayala, edged out 10 other contestants to be crowned Miss Earth Colombia 2023 on Saturday, April 29 at Centro de Convenciones Las Camelias in Montenegro, Quindío. The 26-year-old environmental engineer representing the Serranía de Chiribiquete will now prepare for the Miss Earth 2023 pageant to be held in Vietnam later this year. Marelis Salas Julio of Bolivar placed second and was named Miss Earth Air and Miss Intercontinental Colombia 2023. She will be participating in Miss Intercontinental 2023. The Miss Earth Colombia 2023 national pageant kicked off on April 20 with the arrival of contestants at Hotel Finca El Barranco in Montenegro, a beautiful municipality in the western part of the department of Quindío. A total of 11 eco beauties representing various departments of the country were chosen to compete for the title currently held by last year's titleholder and reigning Miss Earth Fire Andrea Aguilera.  After a week of pre-pageant activities, the final competition will take place tonight at Centro de Convenciones Las Camelias. The winner will represent Colombia at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam later this year. Sofía Osío Luna to represent Colombia at Miss International 2023

Señorita Atlántico and Señorita Colombia 2022, Sofía Osío Luna, has been officially announced as Miss International Colombia 2023. The 22-year-old beauty from Barranquilla will represent her country at Miss International 2023 in Japan later this year. She became the first Señorita Colombia winner to compete in Miss International since the 1960s. Colombia has won Miss International three times with María Stella Márquez Zawadsky (1960), Paulina Margarita Gálvez Pineda (1999, and Jeymmy Paola Vargas Gómez (2004). Last year's representative Natalia López Cardona placed third runner-up among 66 contestants at the 60th Miss International edition held at Tokyo Dome City Hall. The new Miss International Colombia is a graduate of fashion marketing and communication from the European Institute of Design in Barcelona.
