Malaysia's Benedict Yu wins Mister National Universe 2023 in Thailand


Mister Malaysia Benedict Yu was proclaimed Mister National Universe 2023 on Tuesday, June 27 at the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 27-year-old doctor from Kota Kinabalu bested over 20 other competitors to win the 5th edition of the international male pageant.

Benedict succeeds last year's winner from Vietnam, Ngo Hoang Phi Viet. Aside from his title, he was also awarded Mister Popular and Mister Flawless Skin.

"I have gained so much friendships from different countries, getting to experience Thailand cultures and this pageant is the definition of where pageantry meets luxury," he shared online after winning the competition.

Marcus Charlie Bishop of England was named first runner-up while Kritti Nampradit of Thailand, Michael Ver Comaling of the Philippines, and Tishkin Vladislav of Latvia were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

The rest of the Top 10 semifinalists were from Japan (Takumi Ozawa), Pakistan (Jan Asad), Russia (Maxim Zvonov), Ukraine (Sergei Voitov), and Vietnam (Kim Minh Son).

Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 is Danielle Latimer

Danielle Latimer beat over 30 other contestants to win Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 on Saturday, July 26 at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. The 36-year-old entrepreneur, stylist and photographer will represent Great Britain at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Luissa Burton and Leigh Hutchinson were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Last year's winner Christina Chalk crowned her successor at the end of the event. Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Sala Placido Domingo (Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas) in Zapopan, Jalisco. The 24-year-old designer from Teapa, Tabasco triumphed over 30 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Miss Universe 2026 host country and venue officially announced

The Miss Universe Organization has officially confirmed that Puerto Rico will be the host country for the Miss Universe 2026 pageant. Puerto Rican politician Jenniffer González Colón also made an announcement in a conference held on Tuesday, September 23 in San Juan. The 75th Miss Universe edition will be held in November 2026 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, the largest indoor entertainment and sports arena in Puerto Rico. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark was present at the conference alongside former winners from Puerto Rico — Deborah Carthy-Deu (1985), Dayanara Torres (1993), Denise Quiñones (2001), and Zuleyka Rivera (2006). Transgender woman Nguyen Huong Giang to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe 2025

Former Miss International Queen winner Nguyen Huong Giang has been officially announced on Wednesday, September 25 as Miss Universe Vietnam 2025. The 33-year-old model, singer and actress from Hanoi made history as the first ever transgender woman to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe. Huong Giang rose to prominence when she joined the fourth season of Vietnam Idol. She also competed and won The Amazing Race Vietnam 2014 with her ex-boyfriend Criss Lai. One of her proudest achievements in pageantry was winning Miss International Queen 2018, a prestigious beauty pageant for trans women in Pattaya, Thailand. Kimberly de Boer of Curacao beat 27 other contestants to win Reina Hispanoamericana 2026 on Saturday, February 21 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The 21-year-old artist and painter from Willemstad became the second woman from Curacao to hold the title next to Evalina Van Putten (2011). Marta Isabel Otero of Colombia placed second (Virreina Hispanoamericana 2026) while Criselys Garcia of the Dominican Republic and Melissa Payró of Mexico were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Miss Universe 2025, the 74th Miss Universe competition is set to take place on Friday, November 21 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark will hand over her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event.
