Miss Universe Guatemala 2023 is Michelle Cohn — first mother to compete at Miss Universe 2023


Melanie Michelle Cohn Bech, representing Ciudad Capital, was crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2023 on Sunday, August 6 at the Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias in Guatemala City.

The 28-year-old mother of two, model, host, and entrepreneur will now prepare to represent Guatemala at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. She succeeds last year's winner Ivana Batchelor.

Aside from winning the title among 16 equally beautiful competitors, the new Miss Universe Guatemala also bagged the Mejor Modelo Fotografíca and Top Model awards.

Hassell Adriana Zúñiga Reyes of Izabal and Brianna Corina Herrarte Barrios of Guatemala en USA were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 6 were the representatives of Alta Verapaz, Cielo Keila Stefany Pereira Caal (third runner-up), San Raymundo, Dayana Clarisa García del Cid (fourth runner-up), and Santa Catarina Pinula, Evelyn Gamaly Tejada Rivas (fifth runner-up).

Since the Miss Universe Organization significantly changed its rules allowing mothers and married women to participate, this is the first time in history that Guatemala will be represented by a mother.

Since joining Miss Universe for the first time in 1955, Guatemala has yet to win the title. Its highest placements were in the Top 10 in 2019 with Jessica Scheel and in 1984 with Ilma Urrutia, who eventually bagged her country's first Miss International title in Yokohama, Japan.

Spain wins second Mister Supranational title

Pedro Cordero, a 23-year-old model from Cártama (Málaga), was announced the winner of Mister Supranational 2026 during the pageant's 10th edition, which took place on Saturday, August 1, in Nowy Sącz, Poland. He became the second Spanish representative to claim the international male beauty title, following Iván Álvarez Guedes, who won in 2023. Marcél Roux from South Africa secured the first runner-up position, while Daniel Jiawei Li from China, Ramón Alcántara from the Dominican Republic, and Gabriel Castañeda from Mexico took the second, third, and fourth runner-up spots, respectively. The inaugural edition of the Reina Filipinas beauty pageant was held on Friday, August 7 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. Palawan's Angelica Lopez, former Miss International Philippines, was crowned Reina Filipinas Grand International 2026 and will represent the Philippines at Miss Miss Grand International 2026 pageant this October. Jaime VandenBerg was announced the winner of Miss Universe Canada 2025 on Saturday, August 9 at the Chrysler Theatre in Windsor, Ontario. The 28-year-old international model and actress from Lethbridge, Alberta will represent Canada at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Vanessa Pulgarin from Colombia was proclaimed the winner MGI All Stars 2026 on Saturday, May 30 at MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The 34-year-old model bested over 50 other contestants to win the first edition of the pageant. She is expected to return for the second edition to defend her title. Meet the winners of Miss Turkey 2025

The glittering Miss Turkey 2025 national competition was held last December 19 at the Lazzoni Hotel in Istanbul. A total of 20 stunning finalists were chosen to compete for the national titles that were at stake — Miss Turkey World and Miss Turkey Supranational. Sıla Saraydemir, a 22-year-old student, was crowned Miss Turkey World 2025. She is expected to represent Turkey at the 73rd Miss World competition whose date and venue have yet to be announced. The 17th Miss Supranational beauty pageant was held on Friday, July 31 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland. Katrina Llegado, a 28-year-old financial management graduate from the Philippines, was crowned Miss Supranational 2026 by her predecessor Eduarda Braum of Brazil.
