Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023 officially launched in Ho Chi Minh City

After 15 years, Hoa Hậu Hoàn Vũ Việt Nam (formerly Miss Universe Vietnam) by Unicorp and Unimedia has welcomed a new era as it officially launched a new edition, new identity, and new title for its competition.

In a press conference held on Monday, August 7 at Sofitel Saigon Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City, the pageant that previously sent its winners to Miss Universe, officially unveiled its new international brand name, Miss Cosmo Vietnam.

As it embarks on a new journey, the pageant promises to continue its mission to support and honor talented Vietnamese women, and to contribute and create a positive impact to society.

Attended by organizers, reigning queen Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, and runners-up Le Thao Nhi and Huynh Pham Thuy Tien, the special events also introduced the valuable sponsors and details of the upcoming national competition.

Former titleholders, Miss Universe 2018 Top 5 finalist H'Hen Niê and Miss Universe 2020 semifinalist Nguyen Tran Khanh Van have been appointed as contest ambassadors and will also serve as members of the jury.

With the new format, the audience (fan votes) will be part of the judges' scores which will determine the winner and runner-up. There will be two design competitions — the Cosmo mascot design that reflects the new brand and the future-inspired national costume competition.

Vietnamese females or transgenders, from ages 18 to 30 years old and at least 160 cm tall may now register for Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023.

The winner will represent Vietnam at the inaugural edition of the newest international pageant Miss Cosmo International by the same organization, expected to be held next year.

Cosmo, from the Greek word "kosmos" means the organization and order of the universe including matter, energy, space, and time.
