Miss Earth Chile 2023 is Ximena Huala from Santiago

Ximena Huala was crowned Miss Earth Chile 2023 in a national competition held on Sunday, October 8 at the Centro Cultural Espacio Matta in La Granja.

The 22-year-old computer engineering student at the University of Santiago will now prepare to represent Chile at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam this December. She succeeds last year's winner Daniela Riquelme.

Her court of elemental queens were from Temuco, Krishna Sandoval (Air), Huechuraba, Camila Santander (Water), Concón, Vaihere Domingo (Fire), and La Calera, Carolina Canibilo (Ecotourism).

The representatives of Valparaíso, Fernanda Aravena and Ñuñoa, Maria Daniela Fuenzalida were named the first and second runners-up, respectively.

No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Earth Chile is a former Miss International Chile who participated in Miss International 2019 in Japan.

Ximena is a dancer who in 2019 was part of the television program "Rojo, el color del Talento" on TVN. She has Mapuche and Asian origin, as one of her grandparents is Filipino-Chinese.
