Miss South Africa 2024 Top 30 officially announced


The Top 30 semifinalists for the Miss South Africa 2024 competition have been officially announced on Wednesday, May 22.

From 30, only 25 of them will get the chance to move on to the next round and continue their journey to the national crown.

The Miss South Africa organization just also announced that public voting is now open. Voting will close next Wednesday, May 29 at 6 p.m. (SAST).

Miss Maryland USA 2024 is Bailey Anne Kennedy

Asian-American Bailey Anne Kennedy was crowned Miss Maryland USA 2024 on Saturday, June 1 at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. The 31-year-old military wife, an NCAA D1 Dance Team Captain, and a former NFL Cheerleader Trainee from Montgomery County bested over 90 other contestants to win the state title. She became the oldest and the first transgender and married woman to be crowned Miss Maryland USA since the Miss Universe Organization recently changed its rules regarding age limits and marital status. Bailey advocates for "Beauty Without an Expiration Date" to encourage everyone to embrace opportunities regardless of age restrictions and believe in one's own self-worth despite any perceived limitations in life. Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. "This is a dream that has been 8 years in the making for me," said the new National American Miss Alabama who first joined the state pageant when she was 15 years old. After enduring bullying upon her return at the age of 16, she decided to take a break from joining for 7 years. However, this year, she mustered up the courage to give the crown another shot. Miss Universe Peru 2024 is Tatiana Calmell

Tatiana Calmell bested over 30 other contestants to win Miss Peru 2024 (Miss Universe Peru) on Sunday, June 9 at the Plaza Grau in Callao. The 29-year-old actress, representing the city of Talara, will now prepare to represent her country at the 73rd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2024) in Mexico this November. She succeeds last year's winner and Miss Universe 2023 Top 10 finalist, Camila Escribens. Miss Universe Montenegro 2024 is Rumina Ivezaj

After an 8-year hiatus, Montenegro will return to the Miss Universe stage with the newly crowned Miss Universe Montenegro 2024 Rumina Ivezaj. The 19-year-old beauty won the national title in a glittering competition held on Saturday, June 8 at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. "Last night my childhood dream came true and I still can't believe all my hard work and effort paid off. I've grown so much on this journey and it has been filled with joy and unforgettable memories," she wrote online. The new Miss Universe Montenegro was born and raised in Germany. She is a high school graduate but plans to study criminal justice in the future. Miss Universe Portugal 2024 is Andreia Correia

Andreia Correia was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2024 in a national competition held on Saturday, June 15 at Cine-Teatro Avenida in Castelo Branco. The 26-year-old fashion model, representing the municipality of Sintra, bested 25 other contestants to win the national title. She will now prepare to represent Portugal at Miss Universe 2024 to be held in Mexico later this year. Her predecessor, last year's winner Marina Machete, was the first-ever transgender woman to become Miss Universe Portugal.
