Miss South Africa 2023 Top 30 contestants officially revealed

The Top 30 contestants vying to become Miss South Africa 2023 have been officially revealed on Wednesday, May 24 exclusively on the Miss SA App. From 30, only the Top 12, to be announced this June, will have the chance to move on to the finals whose date and venue have yet to be announced. Fan voting on the pageant's official app is now open and will close on Sunday, May 28 at 1 p.m. local time (SAST) so don't miss voting for your favorites to enter the next round of the competition. Miss South Africa 2022 first runner-up Ayanda Thabethe has been officially announced on Tuesday, February 28 as Miss Supranational South Africa 2023. The 23-year-old entrepreneur and model hails from Pietermaritzburg and is pursuing a degree in dietetics and human nutrition from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her campaign "Project Khulisa" aims to improve the future of all South Africans through nutritional intervention and innovation by mobilizing food solutions through initiatives such as community vegetable gardens, food parcels, and education about diet. “After visiting a KZN orphanage, I was surprised at how little consideration is taken by those preparing and funding the meals into providing the children with nutrient-dense meals as most of their meals are supplied by their schools during the day," she wrote on social media. Lalela will be in the Dutch Caribbean island from February 16 to 23 as a special guest of the Miss Supranational Curaçao Organization in collaboration with the Curacao Tourist Board. Miss Supranational 2022 from South Africa, Lalela Mswane, has returned to her home country two weeks after winning her international title in Poland. The 25-year-old arrived at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Friday, July 29. She was warmly welcomed by her friends, family, acting CEO of Brand South Africa Sithembile Ntombela, and the Miss South Africa organizers. At a press conference, Lalela reiterated that her win was not only for herself but for South Africa as a whole. Lalela Mswane from South Africa was crowned Miss Supranational 2022 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland on Friday, July 15. The 25-year-old law graduate and model who hails from Richards Bay in the KwaZulu-Natal province bested 68 other contestants from around the world to win her country's first Miss Supranational crown. She succeeds last year's winner from Namibia, Chanique Rabe. Praewwanich Ruangthong of Thailand was named first runner-up while Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen of Vietnam finished second runner-up. The representatives from Venezuela, Ismelys Velásquez, and Indonesia, Adinda Cresheilla were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss South Africa Organization has officially announced that Lalela Mswane will be sent to the 13th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant. The 24-year-old beauty was crowned Miss South Africa last October in Cape Town. She went on to participate in the 70th Miss Universe pageant last December in Israel and placed second runner-up among 80 contestants.
