Miss Botswana 2022 is Lesego Chombo

Lesego Chombo edged out nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Botswana 2022 on Saturday, October 22 at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone. The 24-year-old all-rounder beauty from Maun holds a law degree from the University of Botswana and is currently a practicing attorney at the High Court of Botswana. She will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced. Tshepo Nthaga and Sebaga Manyapetsa were named the first and second princesses, respectively. Last year's winner Palesa Molefe passed the crown to her successor at the end of the event which was also attended by the reigning Miss World from Poland, Karolina Bielawska. Ada Eme, a 24-year-old model and event planner representing Abia, was proclaimed the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2022 in a glittering national competition held on Friday, October 21 at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos. The new queen bested 36 other contestants to win the 34th MBGN edition and clinch the title of Miss World Nigeria 2022. She succeeds last year's winner Oluchi Madubuike and will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant on a date yet to be announced. Miss Edo, Montana Onose Felix, finished second and received the title of Miss Universe Nigeria 2022 while Miss Anambra, Genevieve Ukatu, Miss Abuja, Ifeoma Uzogheli, and Miss Lagos, Lydia Balogun rounded out the Top 5 and took home the titles Miss Supranational Nigeria, Miss Ecowas Nigeria, and Miss Tourism Nigeria, respectively. Miss Lancashire, Jessica Ashley Gagen from Skelmersdale bested 27 other finalists to be crowned Miss England 2022 on Monday, October 17 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport. The 27-year-old model and aerospace engineering student at the University of Liverpool became the first redhead beauty to ever win the title in pageant history. She succeeds last year's winner Rehema Muthamia and will now prepare to represent England at the 71st Miss World pageant. Emily Cossey, 24, from Chelsea and Milly Everatt, 22, from Eastoft, Lincolnshire were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively. The Miss World Trinidad and Tobago (MWTT) 2022 Top Model Competition took place on Saturday, October 15 at the Toyota Showroom South Park in San Fernando. At the end of the competition, Miss Arima (Jemima Pierre), Miss Maracas Valley (Aché Abrahams), and Miss Plymouth (Karielle Ramsden) were announced as the Top 3 and the winner will be revealed during the grand final on Sunday, November 6 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain. Also during the event, Daronte Guadeloupe was chosen as the Top Designer with a custom dress worn by Miss Arima. The winning dress was made from bridal satin and hand painted with acrylic fabric paint and consisted of a bustier and an eight-panel gore coat, paired with bell trousers. It was made with over 10 yards of fabric and evokes regality and epitomizes elegance and sophistication. Miss Las Condes, Ambar Zenteno, was crowned Miss Mundo Chile 2022 (Miss World Chile) on Sunday, October 16 at Icon Hotel in the Las Condes district, Santiago. The 27-year-old engineer and travel enthusiast, who also won the Popular Vote and Beauty with a Purpose, succeeds last year's winner and Miss World semi-finalists Carol Drpic. Camila Vásquez of Santiago, a professional dancer and winner of Miss Talent, was announced as first runner-up. Miss France 2020 Clémence Botino has been officially announced on Tuesday, October 11 to represent France at the 71st Miss World pageant. Hailing from Guadeloupe, the 25-year-old island beauty was crowned Miss Guadeloupe 2019 prior to winning the prestigious Miss France pageant. She was sent to Miss Universe 2021 in Israel last December and managed to place in the Top 10 among 80 contestants. Clemence is a hard-working student who believes that school and education are keys to success. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in art history at Sorbonne University in Paris. As a rum ambassador, she considers French rum as a luxury product that deserves international recognition and she thinks the youth must be encouraged to learn more about the local economy. Amber Koelewijn was crowned Miss World Nederland 2022 (Miss World Netherlands) in a glittering event that took place on Wednesday, September 28 at the De Koning Party & Events in Amsterdam. The 17-year-old all-around beautician from Bunschoten-Spakenburg bested 11 other finalists to win the national competition. Nova Cheyen, 17, from Rotterdam, and Robey Bruins, 21, from Haaksbergen, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Jennifer Barrantes, representing the region of Ucayali, was crowned Miss World Peru 2022 on Sunday, September 25 in Lima. The 23-year-old beauty is a commercial aviation graduate, a business owner, and an animal advocate. Apart from winning her title, she also bagged several awards including Best Smile, Miss Yolett, and Top Model. Gianella Paz Pacheco of Callao was named first runner-up while Lucia Arellano of Loreto and Fairus Ore of Lima Centro were announced the second and third runners-up, respectively. Leanni Tibbetts of George Town was crowned Miss World Cayman Islands 2022 on Saturday, September 24 at Harquail Theatre. The 25-year-old aviation management graduate is a pilot and sub-lieutenant at the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps. Apart from winning her national title, she was also awarded Miss Photogenic, Best in Sports, Best in Island Couture, and Best in Interview. Melissa Bridgemohan and Latoya Jackson were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Deverlee Ramos Bodden and Angelique Copeland were the rest of the finalists. The new Miss World Cayman Islands is also an environmental conservation advocate who lives by the saying "Be the change" and she intends to use her platform to empower women, especially those in abusive situations, and to highlight environmental initiatives.
