Binibining Pilipinas officially withdraws from Miss Grand International

After almost a decade, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) officially announced its withdrawal from the Miss Grand International Organization. In an official statement released on Monday, November 7, BPCI revealed it will no longer renew its contract with the Thailand-based international pageant. The announcement received a lot of jolly feedback from Filipino fans who have been begging the organizers for years to drop the franchise. Under BPCI, the Philippines managed to achieve two third runners-up placements with Annalie Forbes (2013) and Parul Shah (2015), one second runner-up with Elizabeth Clenci (2017), and two first runners-up with Nicole Cordoves (2016) and Samantha Mae Bernardo (2020). Official send-off for Miss Intercontinental, Globe, and Grand Philippines 2022

Three of this year's Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) titleholders will have an official send-off party this Monday, September 19 in Araneta City. Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabriella Basiano, Binibining Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez, and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Tamondong will soon depart for their international competitions this October. Gabriella and Chelsea will respectively compete for back-to-back wins at Miss Intercontinental 2022 in Egypt (October 14) and The Miss Globe 2022 in Albania (October 15) while Roberta will try to make history at Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia (October 25). Herlene Nicole Budol to represent the Philippines at Miss Planet International 2022

Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up Herlene Nicole Budol, also known as "hipon girl" has been officially announced as the representative of the Philippines at Miss Planet International 2022. The 23-year-old TV personality from Angono, Rizal will travel to Kampala, Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, to compete for the international title this November. Herlene's manager, entrepreneur Wilbert Tolentino was also revealed as the new Miss Planet International national director for the Philippines. Aside from her first runner-up finish in her first-ever national pageant, the new Miss Planet Philippines also bagged seven special awards, making her the record holder for having the most number of awards at Binibining Pilipinas. After three years, the traditional Binibining Pilipinas grand "Parade of Beauties" made a comeback at Araneta City, formerly called Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City. Wearing their floral printed one-shoulder one-piece swimsuits by fashion stylist Justine Aliman and floral headdresses, the 40 beauties who are vying for this year's coveted national titles paraded the streets on Friday, July 23. Binibining Pilipinas 2022, the 58th edition of the national competition, will take place next Sunday, July 31 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The show will air on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channe, A2Z, TV5, IWantTFC, and YouTube. Binibining Pilipinas 2022 national competition is coming soon

The longest-running national beauty competition teased its fans with today's special announcement that Binibining Pilipinas 2022 will be happening soon. "This is it, Binibini fans! Get ready for the country's most prestigious pageant this year," written on its official social media page. While the pageant activities were revealed to kick off in May, there is no confirmation on the official date for the final coronation night yet but according to reports it is set around July. 2021 was a very successful year for Binibining Pilipinas after winning two international beauty titles with Miss Intercontinental 2021 Cinderella Faye Obeñita and Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne. The reigning Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold of Masbate has yet to compete in the 60th Miss International pageant, possibly to be held later this year after being postponed twice. Binibining Pilipinas was formed in the year 1964 and became the longest-running pageant in the Philippines.

Miss Philippines Maureen Montagne bested over 40 other beauties to be crowned Miss Globe 2021 on Friday, November 5 in Tirana, Albania. The 28-year-old Filipino-American events host and model was born and raised in Arizona, USA. She succeeds Miss Globe 2020 Lorinda Kolgeci of Kosovo. Nigeria's Esther Ogechi Gabriel settled for a first runner-up finish while Turkey's Melike Bali was named the second runner-up. The representatives of Venezuela, Jhosskaren Smiller Carrizo, and Canada, Hailey Hamelin-Wilson were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Brazil, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Guyana, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Romania, and the USA completed the Top 15 semi-finalists. Miss Philippines, Cinderella Faye Obeñita, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021 during the glittering 49th edition of the pageant on Friday, October 29 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The 25-year-old tourism officer who hails from Cagayan de Oro bested over 70 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeded Hungary's Fanni Mikó. Mexico's Paulina Uceda was named first runner-up while United Kingdom's Romy Simpkins was awarded the second runner-up. The 24-year-old Filipino-Australian science advocate and model took home the title of Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 (Miss International Philippines) in her second attempt at the national competition.
