Philippines' Cinderella Faye Obeñita wins Miss Intercontinental 2021

Miss Philippines, Cinderella Faye Obeñita, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021 during the glittering 49th edition of the pageant on Friday, October 29 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The 25-year-old tourism officer who hails from Cagayan de Oro bested over 70 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeded Hungary's Fanni Mikó.

Mexico's Paulina Uceda was named first runner-up while United Kingdom's Romy Simpkins was awarded the second runner-up. The representatives from Seychelles, Kelly-Mary Anette, Canada, Kaitlyn Li, and Colombia, Maria Paula Castillo, were the third, fourth, and fifth runners-up, respectively.

"I would like to be that source of hope, that source of inspiration on the true power of beauty, and that is felt in the kindness of our hearts and definitely in the sincerity of our loving actions," the new Miss Intercontinental said in her answer to the final question.

Cinderella is the second woman from the Philippines to hold the Miss Intercontinental title after Karen Gallman who won in 2018.
