Miss Slovensko 2023: Meet the 12 finalists

The finalists vying for Miss Slovensko 2023 (Miss Slovakia) were officially revealed last Tuesday, February 7 at DoubleTree by Hilton Bratislava. From hundreds of applicants, a total of 12 beauties were chosen by an esteemed panel of judges consisting of national director Michael Kováčik, Miss Slovensko 2021 Sophia Hrivňáková, stylist Alex Lindov, and photographer Lukáš Kimlička to name a few. In the next few months, the finalists will go through training sessions, workshops, and preparations including trips to exciting locations in the country and abroad, leading up to the final that will air on TV JOJ next June. Prizes for the winner include a contract with LGM Production, a luxury apartment from Proxenta, and a car (DS 4) during her reign, plus a holiday trip for two to Senegal courtesy of Hydrotour. The next Miss Slovensko is expected to represent the Slovak Republic at Miss World while the runners-up will have the opportunity to compete in Miss International, Miss Intercontinental

8th Mister Global: Meet the 39 contestants

The 8th Mister Global edition is underway in Chiang Mai, Thailand and 39 of the world's most handsome and inspiring gentlemen are competing for the title. Following their arrival to the host city earlier this month, the contestants have been busy with photo shooting, filming, touring, and preparing for the big event. From their pre-pageant activities, they had the opportunity to experience the Chiang Mai flower festival, try local cuisine, visit a temple, plant rice, feed elephants, and learn Thai boxing called Muay Thai. In addition to the unique cultural experiences, the Mister Global contestants also received the generosity and hospitality of the local people. Both the preliminary (February 9) and final competition (February 11) will be held at the Royal Park Rajapruek, a beautiful botanical garden situated in the Mae Hia sub-district. Binibining Pilipinas 2023, the 59th edition of the Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) pageant has begun and the Top 40 have been officially revealed. BPCI (Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated) launched its search last month for the next set of Filipinas who will represent the Philippines at different international pageants. This year's final screening and selection of contestants took place on Monday, February 6 at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City. The date for the grand coronation night to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum has not yet been announced. Nicole Borromeo, Gabrielle Basiano, Chelsea Fernandez, and Roberta Tamondong will crown their successors at the end of the event. Miss Czech Republic 2023: Meet the Top 11 finalists

The Top 11 official finalists vying for Miss Czech Republic 2023 have been officially announced on Thursday, January 26 at Aureole restaurant in Prague. Along with the special presentation of the 11 competitors, a brand new crown designed by jeweler Olga Kopalova was also unveiled. The finalists and a 40-member team were next taken to the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates where they will train and prepare for the grand coronation. Miss Czech Republic 2023 final show will be held on May 13 at the Forum Karlín in Prague where five national titles are at stake. Miss Charm 2023, the inaugural edition of the Vietnam-based international beauty pageant will finally be held this February in Ho Chi Minh City following a 2-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the mission of promoting culture, tourism, and educational activities, the host city will be welcoming 40 participants from different countries around the world. The contestants were selected among the top-ranking beauty queens, especially handpicked in collaboration with the organizing committee from each participating country. According to the organizers, choosing the winner who will take home a whooping cash prize of 100,000 US dollars will be based on several judging criteria including beauty, physique, intellect, and audience appeal. Twenty-eight contestants from the regions of Africa and the Asia Pacific are currently vying for the 71st Miss Universe title in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Bhutan joined for the first time while Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Seychelles made a comeback. It is Seychelle's first participation since 1995. The Philippines still leading Africa and the Asia Pacific with four wins. India and South Africa (leading in Africa) followed with three wins each, and Australia, Japan, and Thailand with two wins each. 71st Miss Universe: Meet the contestants from Europe

Out of over 80 contestants at the 71st Miss Universe pageant now happening in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, 25 came from Europe. Switzerland returned to the competition after a 3-year break while for some reason several countries such as Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, Romania, and Sweden withdrew. Latvia, which was expected to compete for the first time since 2006, made the last-minute decision to not compete after its representative tested positive for COVID-19 before departure. Countries still waiting for their first win are   Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Italy, Kosovo, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Switzerland, Turkiye, and Ukraine. Sweden still leads in Europe with three Miss Universe winners followed by Finland and France with two wins each. Germany, Greece, Netherlands, and Norway have each captured one victory in the past. Over 80 contestants from around the world are now competing in the prestigious 71st Miss Universe edition in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. A total of 31 contestants came from the region of The Americas. Four from returning countries — Belize, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay. Countries and territories yet to win their first Miss Universe are Belize, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Saint Lucia, The Bahamas, and Uruguay. The USA is still leading across all regions with a total of eight winners followed by Venezuela with seven and Puerto Rico with five.
