Mohra Tantawy edged out four other competitors to be proclaimed Miss Universe Eygpt 2023 on Monday, September 25. The 21-year-old business marketing graduate and model from Cairo will now prepare to represent Egypt at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. Aya Abdelrazik was named first runner-up while Amera Othman, Doaa Meera Tarek, and Salma Eltoukhy were the rest of the finalists. This year's competition was the first edition of the national pageant since the Dubai-based company Yugen Group held the Miss Universe license for Egypt. A total of five equally beautiful finalists have been officially announced vying for the coveted Miss Universe Egypt 2023. They will battle it out to win the title during the national final scheduled this month and one of them will have the opportunity to represent Egypt at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. The 50th edition of Miss Intercontinental has officially kicked off last weekend in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt with the official welcome and sashing ceremony of the contestants from all across continents. Standouts were Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Crimea, Curacao, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Greece, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Thailand, USA, and Vietnam. Around 70 contestants are vying for one of the world's most coveted international titles. One of them will succeed Cinderella Faye Elle Obeñita from the Philippines, the reigning Miss Intercontinental. Miss Intercontinental 2022 final will take place on Friday, October 14 at the Meraki Resort in Sharm El Sheik, an Egyptian city located at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula and between the coastal strip of the Red Sea and Mount Sinai.
