Vietnam's Do Thi Lan Anh has been announced the winner of the Best in National Costume during the Miss Earth 2023 finals and coronation on Friday, December 22 at Van Phuc City. Designed by the talented Vietnamese fashion designer Nguyen Tien Truyen, her "Nu Vuong" costume was showcased during the preliminary competition held on December 16 at the Van Thanh Flower Village in Dalat. "A deeper love for my Vietnamese heritage that is full of wonder and beauty. It feels surreal that I was given the opportunity to showcase a part of my nation’s history and honor the Vietnamese heroes of the past," she shared online. Vietnam's Do Lan Anh has been announced the winner of the Best Appearance at Miss Earth 2023 blue carpet welcome event which was held last December 3 at the Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City. The 26-year-old was voted by fans from December 4 to December 8 on the official social media page of the Miss Earth competition. As previously announced, the rest of the Top 5 finalists for the award were beauties from Cambodia (Pouvjessica Tan), Mongolia (Munkhchimeg Batjargal), Myanmar (Soung Hnin San), and the Philippines (Yllana Aduana). For her prize, Miss Earth Vietnam received a chance to double her voting points for the Miss People's Choice on the Eventista portal from 9 p.m. on December 13 until 9 p.m. on December 14. Do Thi Lan Anh was crowned Miss Earth Vietnam 2023 in a glittering national competition held on Saturday, October 14 at the White Palace Vo Van Kiet in Ho Chi Minh City. The 26-year-old beauty edged out 29 other contestants to win the national title. She will now represent Vietnam at Miss Earth 2023 this December. Her court of elemental queens includes Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (Miss Air), Hoang Thi Yen Nhi (Miss Water), and Hoang Thi Kim Chi (Miss Fire). Nong Thuy Hang was crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2022 in a glittering event held on Saturday, July 16 in Ho Chi Minh City. The 23-year-old beauty from the Tay ethnic group in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang is a graduate of the National Economics University. Luong Thi Hoa Dan, a 21-year-old student from the Kinh ethnic group in the northern province of Hai Duong, was named first runner-up. The new president of Nova Entertainment, Truong Ngoc Anh, has announced ownership of the Miss Earth Vietnam franchise in a press conference held last Thursday, February 17. A national pageant will take place this March to honor the beauty, intelligence, and special talents of young women from 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam. The winner will represent the country at the next Miss Earth edition. Miss Earth Vietnam 2021 competition was launched in a press conference held last Wednesday, April 28 in Lac Duong. The special event to kick off the first-ever Miss Earth Vietnam pageant was attended by former titleholders and Miss Earth 2018 Nguyen Phuong Khanh, the very first Vietnamese to win Miss Earth. Four titles are at stake in the national pageant and a total of 6 billion VND worth of prizes will be given away. The main winner will have the opportunity to represent the country at the international Miss Earth competition. Besides looking for an exceptional woman to represent Vietnam on the global stage, the organizers also aim to contribute to raising awareness on environmental protection and preservation.
