Amber Koelewijn was crowned Miss World Nederland 2022 (Miss World Netherlands) in a glittering event that took place on Wednesday, September 28 at the De Koning Party & Events in Amsterdam. The 17-year-old all-around beautician from Bunschoten-Spakenburg bested 11 other finalists to win the national competition. Nova Cheyen, 17, from Rotterdam, and Robey Bruins, 21, from Haaksbergen, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Amber, who advocates against cyberbullying, was also the Talent and Top Model winner. She succeeds Lizzy Dobbe and will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at the 71st Miss World pageant. Ona Moody was crowned Miss Nederland 2022 (Miss Netherlands) on Sunday, September 4 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. The 25-year-old Zimbabwean-Dutch beauty is a maternity nurse living in Amsterdam. She bested nine other finalists to win her national title. The final competition of the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands 2022 pageant was held on Saturday, July 2 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. A 24-year-old interior designer from Dodewaard, Merel Hendriksen, was named Miss Earth Netherlands 2022 while a 17-year-old aspiring beautician from Houten, Floortje Timmer, clinched the title of Miss Teen of the Netherlands 2022. They will respectively represent the Netherlands at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines and Miss Teen International in India. Marit Beets was crowned Miss Grand Netherlands 2022 in a national competition held at Leonardo Royal Hotel in Amsterdam last April 24. The 22-year-old human resource management student who hails from the fishing town of Volendam succeeds Nathalie Yasmin. "The news has now landed a bit, every morning when I enter the living room I see the beautiful crown then a kind of shiver always goes through my body, because it is really true," she shared on social media. A transgender woman, Solange Dekker, made history after entering the Top 10 of Miss Nederland 2022 (Miss Universe Netherlands 2022) in a casting held in Amsterdam on Saturday, April 16. The casting event took place at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. Former Miss Nederland winners Zoey Ivory, Rahima Dirkse, and Denise Speelman were part of the judging panel.
