Miss Universe Philippines 2022 screening starts this February

Miss Universe Philippines organization has officially announced on social media that screening of applicants for the 2022 competition will start this February. The announcement also confirmed the month when the pageant will take place. "We’re brewing something phenomenal. Miss Universe Philippines 2022, this coming April," the organizers posted. Last year's winner and Miss Universe 2021 Top 5 finalist from Cebu City, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, will crown her successor who will represent the Philippines at the 71st Miss Universe edition possibly later this year. Miss Philippines Maureen Montagne bested over 40 other beauties to be crowned Miss Globe 2021 on Friday, November 5 in Tirana, Albania. The 28-year-old Filipino-American events host and model was born and raised in Arizona, USA. She succeeds Miss Globe 2020 Lorinda Kolgeci of Kosovo. Nigeria's Esther Ogechi Gabriel settled for a first runner-up finish while Turkey's Melike Bali was named the second runner-up. The representatives of Venezuela, Jhosskaren Smiller Carrizo, and Canada, Hailey Hamelin-Wilson were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Philippines, Cinderella Faye Obeñita, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021 during the glittering 49th edition of the pageant on Friday, October 29 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The 25-year-old tourism officer who hails from Cagayan de Oro bested over 70 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeded Hungary's Fanni Mikó. Tracy Maureen Perez of Cebu City was crowned Miss World Philippines 2021 on Sunday, October 3 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in Olongapo, Zambales. The 28-year-old model and industrial engineer succeeds Michelle Dee and will now prepare to represent the Philippines at the 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December. Kathleen Joy Paton, Zoe Emmanuelle Vera, Trisha Martinez, Michelle Arceo, Shaila Mae Rebortera, and Tatyana Alexi Austria were respectively named Miss Eco International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Tourism Universe, Miss Environment International, Miss Multinational and Miss Eco Teen International Philippines 2021. Beatrice Luigi Gomez, representing Cebu City, bested 27 other beauties to be crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 in a national competition held on Thursday, September 30 at the Henann Resort Convention Center at Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol. The 26-year-old model and athlete succeeds last year's winner, Rabiya Mateo. She will now prepare to represent the Philippines at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December.
