Saroop Roshi was crowned Miss World Malaysia 2023 in a national competition held on Friday, August 25 at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The 24-year-old psychologist, model, and travel enthusiast hailing from Perak bested 13 other competitors to win the coveted national title. She succeeds last year's winner, Wenanita Angang, who will be heading to Mumbai, India this November to represent Malaysia at Miss World 2023 whose final is set to be held on December 9. Natalie Ang Ai Dee and Chai Shu Wen were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Vaishnavi Siva Kumar, Adlyn Jayne Andrew, and Ellesha Meschille were the rest of the Top 6 finalists. Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska touched down on Wednesday, August 23 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for a 4-day visit to attend the upcoming Miss World Malaysia 2023 grand final. Accompanied by the Miss World Organization Chairman and CEO Julia Morley, the beauty queen was warmly welcomed by the national director of Miss World Malaysia Sean Wong, and his wife Adelyne Fung.
