Miss Universe Philippines 2022 screening starts this February

Miss Universe Philippines organization has officially announced on social media that screening of applicants for the 2022 competition will start this February. The announcement also confirmed the month when the pageant will take place. "We’re brewing something phenomenal. Miss Universe Philippines 2022, this coming April," the organizers posted. Last year's winner and Miss Universe 2021 Top 5 finalist from Cebu City, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, will crown her successor who will represent the Philippines at the 71st Miss Universe edition possibly later this year. They are from  England , Rehema Muthamia, India , Manasa Varanasi, Kenya , Sharon Obara, Philippines , Tracy Perez, South Africa , Shudufhadzo Musida, and the United States , Shree Saini. Miss World 2021: Head to Head Challenge winners announced

After a busy couple of weeks interviewing each contestant in this year's Miss World Head to Head Challenge and the public votes have been tallied, the winners were finally revealed on Thursday, December 9 at the Capitolio De Puerto Rico in San Juan. The winners are contestants from Botswana , Palesa Mofele, Cameroon , Audrey Monkam, Cote D'Ivoire , Olivia Yacé, Nepal , Namrata Shrestha, Nicaragua , Sheynnis Palacios, Paraguay , Bethania Borba, Philippines , Tracy Perez, and Venezuela , Alejandra Conde. Miss World Cayman Islands, Colombia, Haiti, Indonesia, Mexico, Mongolia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam were the rest of the Top 16. This year broke records on the Mobstar Voting platform with 1.4 billion views and 70 million votes, making it busier this year than the last few years put together. Miss Philippines Maureen Montagne bested over 40 other beauties to be crowned Miss Globe 2021 on Friday, November 5 in Tirana, Albania. The 28-year-old Filipino-American events host and model was born and raised in Arizona, USA. She succeeds Miss Globe 2020 Lorinda Kolgeci of Kosovo. Nigeria's Esther Ogechi Gabriel settled for a first runner-up finish while Turkey's Melike Bali was named the second runner-up. Miss Philippines, Cinderella Faye Obeñita, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021 during the glittering 49th edition of the pageant on Friday, October 29 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The 25-year-old tourism officer who hails from Cagayan de Oro bested over 70 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeded Hungary's Fanni Mikó. The 28-year-old model and industrial engineer succeeds Michelle Dee and will now prepare to represent the Philippines at the 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December. The 23-year-old Filipino-Syrian commercial model and mental health advocate bested 65 other beauties from across her country to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner and Miss Earth - Water Roxanne Allison Baeyens of Baguio City. After several cancellations and postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the national competition will finally reach a culmination. Over 30 contestants will be vying for four coveted crowns at stake and the opportunity to represent the Philippines at Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss Globe. No more minimum height requirement for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant

Miss Universe Philippines organization has finally got rid of its minimum height requirements for this year's competition. Maria Thattil, Miss Universe Australia 2020 and 69th Miss Universe Top 10 placer, has lauded the national organization for changing its rules. The age requirement was also adjusted. Although the minimum age is still 18 years old but entrants should be under 28 years old at the time of the national pageant. Other requirements stayed the same. Entrants must be Filipino citizens and Philippine passport holders, at least a high school graduate and female, who has never been married nor has borne children. National director Shamcey Supsup-Lee's statement in an interview regarding transgender women became controversial. She said that they will accept transgender applicants as long as they can provide legal proof of being female and have already gone through reassignment surgery. Sixty-eight beauties will be vying for the coveted titles at stake in a live virtual coronation on July 25. This year's pageant takes on the theme “Colors of the Earth” for its 21st edition. The next Miss Philippines Earth will represent the Philippines at the Miss Earth 2021 pageant whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
