Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 Top 40 contestants officially revealed

The Top 40 contestants vying for the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 (Jewel of the Philippines) pageant have been officially presented to the press on Wednesday, November 23 at the Citadines Bay City Manila. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the national competition was not held in 2020 and 2021. The winner of the upcoming 52nd edition is expected to represent the Philippines at Miss Asia Pacific International 2023 on a date and venue yet to be announced. Klyza Castro, the titleholder from 2019 and the longest reigning Mutya ng Pilipinas, will crown her successor on Sunday, December 4 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. In addition to the main winner, six other titles are at stake consisting of Mutya ng Pilipinas - World Top Model, Tourism International, Overseas Communities, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Miss Earth 2022 beauties went to Zamboanga City, swimsuit competition pushed through despite heavy rain

For the first time, all of the Miss Earth competitors were flown out to Zamboanga City, the "City of Flowers" in the Mindanao region of the Philippines as part of their eco-tours and the much-awaited swimsuit competition. Together with reigning Miss Earth Destiny Wagner and Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel, over 80 beauties visited the city’s historic, eco-tourism, and cultural sites, including the 115-year-old city hall and the Grande Santa Cruz Island, a small inhabited island in the southern region known for its pink coralline sand, where they planted mangroves. Supported by the city government headed by Mayor John Dalipe, the necessary preparation for the security and safety of the contestants was put in place. The contestants were accommodated at the Garden Orchid Hotel and they not only experienced local cuisines and the natural beauty of Zamboanga but also received the kindness and warm hospitality of its people. Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 (Miss International Philippines) Hannah Arnold received her official send-off party for Miss International 2022 on Tuesday, November 15 at the Novotel Hotel in Araneta City, Cubao. Over a year after winning her national title, the 26-year-old Filipino-Australian beauty will finally be heading to Tokyo, Japan for the international competition which is scheduled to be held on December 13 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Her sister queens including former Miss International Lara Quigamanwere present during her send-off to share support and words of encouragement as she tries to bring home her country's 7th Miss International crown. Over 80 eco-warriors made it to the Miss Earth 2022 official press presentation on Monday, November 14 at the Cove Manila (Okada Manila) in Parañaque City. The contestants strutted their stuff down the runway wearing their official swimwear sponsored by Ricky Abad in front of the local and international media. Standouts were beauties from Australia, Belize, Colombia, Cuba, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Thailand, USA, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Four continental medalists were voted "Darling of the Press" and they are Australia's Sheridan Mortlock for Asia and Oceania, Colombia's Andrea Aguilera for the Americas, Netherlands' Merel Hendriksen for Europe, and Nigeria's Esther Ajayi for Africa. The event was hosted by former Miss Earth Karen Ibasco of the Philippines and reigning queen Destiny Wagner of Belize. It's departure time for the Miss Earth 2022 contestants as they head to Manila, Philippines to compete in the biggest international pageant dedicated to the protection and preservation of our planet Earth. Around 90 eco-warriors from all corners of the world are expected to arrive in the host country this weekend and kick off their official in-person events and activities. The reigning Miss Earth from Belize, Destiny Wagner, has for the first time since winning last year's virtual edition arrived at the Miss Earth headquarters on November 8. Annabelle McDonnell has been officially announced as Miss Charm Philippines 2023 and will represent her country at Miss Charm 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 22-year-old student pursuing a degree in consular and diplomatic affairs was named first runner-up while representing Misamis Oriental during the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 final in April. No stranger to pageantry, the UK-born Filipina beauty from Iligan City has conquered several local pageants in the past including Miss Iligan 2018, Miss Lanao Del Norte 2019, Miss Millennial Philippines 2019, and Miss Kuyamis 2022. Binibining Pilipinas officially withdraws from Miss Grand International

After almost a decade, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) officially announced its withdrawal from the Miss Grand International Organization. In an official statement released on Monday, November 7, BPCI revealed it will no longer renew its contract with the Thailand-based international pageant. The announcement received a lot of jolly feedback from Filipino fans who have been begging the organizers for years to drop the franchise. Under BPCI, the Philippines managed to achieve two third runners-up placements with Annalie Forbes (2013) and Parul Shah (2015), one second runner-up with Elizabeth Clenci (2017), and two first runners-up with Nicole Cordoves (2016) and Samantha Mae Bernardo (2020).
