Former Miss International Kylie Verzosa wins Best Actress at DIAFA 2022


Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa of the Philippines won the Best Actress award for her performance in "The Housemaid (2021)" at the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards in Dubai.

The former beauty queen turned actress received her award on Friday, November 4 at the Dubai Creek Harbour Marina wearing a beautiful gown by Manila-based Filipino fashion designer Mark Bumgarner.

"Six years ago, when I won the Miss International title for the Philippines, it was such a joyous moment for me. Today, I feel like winning another crown, and this time for Best Actress. Nothing ever beats the feeling of winning something for your own country because of your own hard work," she said in her acceptance speech.

Kylie also dedicated her award to all the Filipino workers abroad "who have sacrificed their time, their happiness, and their efforts for the sake of their country, but most of all, for their families."

"The Housemaid" is an adaptation of a Korean film that follows the story of a naive and innocent girl hired to work as a nanny for a rich family.

Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 is Clara Vegas of Miranda

Clara Vegas triumphed over 21 other contestants to win the title of Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 on Thursday, December 4 in Caracas. The 23-year-old model and actress from Miranda will represent Venezuela at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in Puerto Rico. Maria Evangelista Alayon of Amazonas was named first runner-up while Milena Paola Soto of Mérida, Gabriela de la Cruz of Yaracuy, and Gabriela Villegas of Monagas were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Earth 2022 is Mina Sue Choi, first winner from Korea

Mina Sue Choi of Korea bested over 80 other competitors to win Miss Earth 2022 in a glittering competition held on Tuesday, November 29 at Cove Manila, Okada Manila in the Philippines. The 24-year-old communication student succeeded Destiny Wagner of Belize and became her country's first-ever Miss Earth winner. She also bagged three gold medals for the swimsuit, beach wear, and long gown competition, and one bronze for resort wear. Australia's Sheridan Mortlock, Palestine's Nadeen Ayoub, and Colombia's Andrea Aguilera finished in the Top 4 and were awarded the elemental titles Miss Earth - Air, Water, and Fire, respectively. Miss Venezuela World 2025 is Mística Nuñez of Falcón

Mística Nuñez, representing Falcón, was crowned Miss Venezuela World 2025 in a national competition held at the Studio 1 of Venevisión on Wednesday, November 12 in Caracas. The 24-year-old pharmacist and medical student succeeds last year's titleholder Valeria Cannavò and will represent Venezuela at the Miss World 2026 competition. Gia Soleil Espinoza of Texas was crowned Miss Earth USA 2026 in a national competition held on Saturday, January 3 at Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Kim Thitisan Goodburn was proclaimed Mister International Thailand 2023 in a national competition held on Sunday, September 3 at MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi. The 24-year-old Thai-British model and actor bested 27 other competitors to win the national title.
