Namrata Shrestha bested 20 other contestants to be crowned Miss Nepal World 2020 in a national competition held on Saturday, December 5. She succeeds last year’s titleholder, Anushka Shrestha.

The 23-year-old sociology student and a kindergarten teacher will represent Nepal at the 70th Miss World pageant to be held in the last quarter of 2021.

Sandhya Sharma, Supriya Shrestha, and Simal Kanaujiya were named Miss Nepal International, Miss Nepal Earth, and Miss Nepal Supranational, respectively, while Merisa Singh Suwal and Ayesha Shrestha completed the Top 6.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the 25th edition of Miss Nepal was held without an audience. The competition aired on Kantipur TV from the Park Village Resort in Kathmandu.
