Miss Universo Panamá 2022 is Solaris Barba


Solaris Barba was officially named Miss Universo Panamá 2022 (Miss Universe Panama) in a press presentation that took place on Wednesday, May 25 in Panama City.

The 23-year-old psychology student, model, TV host and businesswoman from Arraiján edged out nine other beauties to clinch the title. She succeeds last year's titleholder Brenda Smith and will now prepare to represent Panama at Miss Universe 2022.

"Today officially marks the beginning of a path full of change and hope for all, this is the moment to break a pattern in the contests, truly celebrating women. Not only to its beauty but to its essence and the strength that transcends facing fears to touch hearts through dreams," Solaris shared on social media after being named Miss Universe Panama.

"From the bottom of my little heart I thank immensely each of the souls that have been part of the path that brought me here and what continues from it," she added.

The new Miss Universe Panama is no stranger to pageantry. In 2018, she competed at Miss World in Sanya, China where placed in the Top 12 and was awarded the title Miss World Americas.

Russia's Varvara Yakovenko wins Miss Intercontinental 2025

Varvara Yakovenko beat over 50 other contestants to win Miss Intercontinental 2025 on Thursday, January 29 at V Hotel Sahl Hasheesh in Egypt. The 18-year-old model became the fourth woman from Russia to hold the international beauty title. She succeeds last year's winner María Cepero from Puerto Rico. Lorena Suárez Lara from Cuba was named first runner-up while Vanessa Natcha Wenk of Thailand and Faidha Kassim Kivuyo of Tanzania were the second and third runners-up, respectively. Miss Charm 2025 is Anna Blanco from Venezuela

Anna Blanco Flores from Venezuela beat over 30 other contestant to win Miss Charm 2025 on Friday, December 12 in Ho Chi Minh City. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter and model was crowned by her predecessor Rashmita Rasindran from Malaysia. She became the first Venezuelan woman to hold the international beauty title. Luisa Victoria Malz from Germany and Rinanda Maharani from Indonesia were respectively announced the first and second runners-up while Francia Cortés of Mexico and Naruemol Phimphakdee of Thailand rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Kimberly de Boer of Curacao beat 27 other contestants to win Reina Hispanoamericana 2026 on Saturday, February 21 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The 21-year-old artist and painter from Willemstad became the second woman from Curacao to hold the title next to Evalina Van Putten (2011). Marta Isabel Otero of Colombia placed second (Virreina Hispanoamericana 2026) while Criselys Garcia of the Dominican Republic and Melissa Payró of Mexico were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Sala Placido Domingo (Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas) in Zapopan, Jalisco. The 24-year-old designer from Teapa, Tabasco triumphed over 30 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Pastry chef and model Swann Lavigne from France was proclaimed Mister Supranational 2025 on Saturday, June 28 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland. The 25-year-old bested 37 other contestants to win the international male pageant. He succeeds last year's winner Fezile Mkhize from South Africa. Miss Universe 2025, the 74th Miss Universe competition is set to take place on Friday, November 21 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark will hand over her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event. New show format for Miss Universe 2024, important details announced

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) held a press conference on September 4 in Mexico to announce important details of the upcoming 73rd Miss Universe pageant. This year's historic edition, to be held at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on November 16, will introduce a new show format. From around 130 contestants, only 30 will be announced as semifinalists, followed by the Top 12, Top 5, and the winner. The Top 30 will include four continental queens and one fan vote winner. The contestants are expected to arrive in Mexico during the last week of October and will be staying at their luxurious official residence, the Presidente InterContinental. They also will be touring various destinations around the country as part of their hectic schedule of events and activities.
