Miss Universe Uruguay 2022 is Carla Romero


Miss Mundo Uruguay 2022 Top 8 finalist Carla Romero has been officially revealed as Miss Universe Uruguay 2022. She succeeds Miss Universe Uruguay 2020, Lola de los Santos.

The 24-year-old business administration graduate and an image consultant from Montevideo will represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana this January.

Carla went to social media on Thursday, September 2022 to personally announce the news to her followers with a new photo captioned "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams."

"We’re ready Universe! Uruguay is here to play. I’m your Miss Universe Uruguay 2022," she added.

The new Miss Universe Uruguay also has a message for her supporters: "Thank you to all who believe in me and my potential. I invite you to join me in this adventure."

Since joining Miss Universe for the first time in 1952 with Gladys Rubio Fajardo, Uruguay skipped only four editions including last year. The South American country has yet to win the pageant and its highest (and the last) placement was in 1985 when Andrea Beatríz López Silva finished as fourth runner-up.

This year, the national organization that appointed Carla for Miss Universe also holds the license for Miss World, Miss Supranational, and Miss Earth. The next Miss World and Miss Earth editions will be represented by Tatiana Luna and Lesly Lemos Martínez, respectively.

Miss USA 2025: Meet the contestants

Miss USA 2025, the much-awaited 74th Miss USA pageant will be held on Friday, October 24 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. This year's competition marks the fourth occasion it will take place in Reno after 2019, 2022, and 2023. Also, this will be the first edition under the leadership of the new Chairman, President, and CEO, Thom Brodeur. The next Miss USA will head to Bangkok, Thailand to represent "the land of opportunity" at the highly anticipated Miss Universe 2025 pageant this November. Miss Universe Switzerland 2025 is Naima Acosta

Naima Acosta was crowned Miss Universe Switzerland 2025 during the national final on Saturday, September 27 at the Kursaal Arena in Bern. The 20-year-old Swiss-Mexican beauty from Ticino will now prepare to represent Switzerland at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Lisa Barras from Fribourg and Melina Malonga Matouba from Geneva placed second and third, respectively. The new Miss Universe Switzerland bested 18 other contestants to win the national title. Miss Universe Mexico 2025 is Fatima Bosch of Tabasco

Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Sala Placido Domingo (Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas) in Zapopan, Jalisco. The 24-year-old designer from Teapa, Tabasco triumphed over 30 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Fernanda Vázquez of Nuevo León was named first runner-up while Yoana Gutiérrez of Jalisco, Ana Ramírez of Nayarit, and Alejandra Díaz de León of San Luis Potosí were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Vanessa Pulgarín was proclaimed the winner of Miss Universe Colombia 2025 in a reality show broadcasted by Canal RCN on Sunday, September 28. The 34-year-old businesswoman, athlete, and model from Medellín, Antioquia will represent Colombia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. USA's Midori Monet crowned Miss International Queen 2025

Midori Monet of the USA was crowned Miss International Queen 2025 on Saturday, September 20 at the Tiffany's Show Pattaya in Thailand. The 26-year-old stunner from Seattle, Washington bested 22 other beauties from around the world to win the prestigious international beauty title for transgender women. She succeeded last year's winner Catalina Marsano from Peru. Besides winning the highly coveted crown, she was also awarded the Preliminary Best Performance and Best National Costume. Olivia Lauren from Cuba and Ha Tam Nhu from Vietnam were announced the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Universe 2026 host country and venue officially announced

The Miss Universe Organization has officially confirmed that Puerto Rico will be the host country for the Miss Universe 2026 pageant. Puerto Rican politician Jenniffer González Colón also made an announcement in a conference held on Tuesday, September 23 in San Juan. The 75th Miss Universe edition will be held in November 2026 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, the largest indoor entertainment and sports arena in Puerto Rico. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark was present at the conference alongside former winners from Puerto Rico — Deborah Carthy-Deu (1985), Dayanara Torres (1993), Denise Quiñones (2001), and Zuleyka Rivera (2006). Next year's competition will be the fourth Miss Universe edition to take place in Puerto Rico after 1972 (Dorado), 2001 (Bayamón), and 2002 (San Juan). Miss Universe Laos 2025 is Lattana Munvilay

Lattana Munvilay was crowned Miss Universe Laos 2025 last Sunday, September 21 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Vientiane. The 31-year-old model and actress from Salavan province succeeds last year's winner Phiranya Thipphomvong. She will represent Laos at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Soudavone Inthavong of Luang Namtha and Lothjana Khounnavong of Houaphanh were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Laos has already joined the national competition twice. She placed second runner-up in 2019 and 2022. Lattana graduated from Vientiane High School and went on to study architecture at the National University of Laos.
