Miss Universe Malta 2023 is Ella Portelli of St. Julians


Miss St. Julians, Ella Portelli, was crowned Miss Universe Malta 2023 in a national competition held on Friday, June 30 at the Hilton Malta in St. Julian's.

The 24-year-old interior designer bested 24 other competitors to win the national title. She will now represent her country at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador later this year.

Julia Ann Cluett of Floriana and Ntombi Malinga of San Gwann were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Rebecca Camilleri of Sliema, Amy Spiteri of Ghaxaq, and Greta Craus of Rabat rounded out the Top 6 finalists.

Last year's titleholder who bagged the Miss Congeniality award at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Maxine Formosa Gruppetta, relinquished her reign at the end of the event.

The new Miss Universe Malta joined the pageant to "empower and inspire others to never stop believing in themselves and to show that you can do anything you set your mind to."

"If I could spread one message, it would be to be kind and mindful to others as you never what someone may be going through," she said in her introduction video for the competition.

"I'm here to be the best version of myself and to spread awareness on topics close to my heart and I'm so grateful to have this opportunity," she added.

Miss Universe Belarus 2024 is Karyna Kisialiova

Belarus is set to debut at the Miss Universe pageant this year with newly crowned Miss Universe Belarus 2024 Karyna Kisialiova. Laura Bircher was crowned Miss Universe Switzerland 2024 in a glittering national competition held on Saturday, September 28 at the Kursaal Arena in Bern. The 23-year-old mental health advocate from Stans succeeds last year's winner Lorena Santen and will now prepare to represent Switzerland at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. 81-year-old model Choi Soon-hwa joins Miss Universe Korea 2024

Choi Soon-hwa recently created a buzz in the pageant community when she appeared as the oldest contestant vying for Miss Universe Korea 2024. The 81-year-old senior model who walked her first runway in her 70s made history as she competes alongside more than 30 others in the upcoming national competition. The 28-year-old pharmacist and freelance model from Szombathely will represent Hungary at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. Ofir Natalie Korsia was crowned Miss Universe Israel 2024 in a national competition held on Sunday, September 29 at the Hilton Aventura Miami in Florida. The 23-year-old actress, dancer, and model from Rishon LeZion will now prepare to represent Israel at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. This year's event marked the return of Israel to the Miss Universe pageant after a 2-year hiatus. A total of eight contestants competed for the crown. It was organized under the new national director Edgar Saakyan of Edgar Entertainment (USA), in partnership with Blue Ocean Venture Funds. Miss Orb International 2024 is Fernanda Fernández from Costa Rica

Costa Rica's very own Fernanda Fernández was crowned Miss Orb International 2024 on Monday, September 30 in San José, Costa Rica. The 23-year-old fashion model bested 14 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeds Camila Canto from Mexico. Andreina Quintero from Venezuela and Rebecca Drouin from Canada were first and second runners-up, respectively. Xiadani Saucedo from Mexico and Allison Ojeda from Puerto Rico rounded out the Top 5 finalists. The rest of the Top 10 were from Bolivia, Anabel Guzman, Colombia, Maria Camila Medrano, El Salvador, Eva Barrera, Guatemala, Verónica Mejía and USA, Azalia Arredondo. Christine Juliane Opiaza was crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2024 on Sunday, September 29 at the  Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
