Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2023 is Mariana Downing


Mariana Downing was crowned Miss República Dominicana Universo 2023 (Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2023) during the Miss República Dominicana 2023 grand final held on Sunday, September 3 at Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo.

The 27-year-old Dominican-British model and actress, representing Sánchez Ramírez, bested over 20 other competitors to win the national title. She will now prepare to represent the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November.

Yamilex Hernández of La Vega was named Miss International Dominican Republic 2023 while Melissa Domínguez of Santo Domingo de Guzmán won the title Reina Hispanoamerican Dominican Republic 2023.

Eoanna Constanza of Distrito Nacional and Chantal Silliman of Santiago rounded out the Top 5 finalists while Heidy Rosado of Barahona, Celinda Ortega of Com. Dom. En USA, Leonela González of Com. Dom. En Puerto Rico, Yuli Mercedes of La Romana, and Amelia Ramírez of San Cristóbal were the rest of the Top 10.

The representatives of Azua, Francheska Pujols, Com. Dom. En Italia, Melany Bergaglio, Duarte, Maria Vargas, Hermanas Mirabal, Crissel Tejada, and Lisbeth Pimentel of San José de las Matas completed the Top 15 semifinalists.

Last year's winner, Andreína Martínez Founier crowned her successor at the end of the event. She was second runner-up at Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans last January.

The Dominican Republic won the Miss Universe title once with the remarkable Amelia Vega in 2003.

Miss Grand International 2025 is Emma Mary Tiglao of the Philippines

Emma Mary Tiglao of the Philippines was crowned Miss Grand International 2025 on Saturday, October 18 at MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The 30-year-old news anchor from Mabalacat City, Pampanga bested 76 other contestants to clinch the second golden crown for the Philippines. Sarunrat Puagpipat of Thailand, Aitana Carolina Jimenez of Spain, Faith Maria Porter of Ghana, and Nariman Battikha of Venezuela were announced the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Laura Ramos of Colombia, Markéta Mörwicková of the Czech Republic, Ana-Sofía Lendl of Guatemala, Montserrat Villalva of Mexico, and Beatrice Alex Akyoo made the Top 10 and were all named fifth runners-up. Miss Universe Haiti 2025 is Melissa Queenie Sapini

Melissa Queenie Sapini was officially crowned Miss Universe Haiti 2025 in a special ceremony held on Saturday, October 18 at The Palm Theater (Embassy Suites) in Boca Raton, Florida. The 22-year-old Haitian-American TV host will now prepare to represent Haiti at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Haiti is a former Miss Massachusetts USA. She competed in Miss USA 2024 in Los Angeles, California and made the Top 10. Miss USA 2025, the much-awaited 74th Miss USA pageant will be held on Friday, October 24 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. This year's competition marks the fourth occasion it will take place in Reno after 2019, 2022, and 2023. Miss Grand Ohio Ivana Garcia was crowned Miss Grand USA 2025 in a national competition held last Monday, August 18 in Las Vegas. The 23-year-old model and entrepreneur will represent the USA at Miss Grand International 2025 in Thailand this October. She succeeds last year's winner Cora Griffen. Zashely Alicea Rivera, representing Dorado, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2025 on Thursday, August 14 at Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. The 25-year-old psychology graduate, professional ballet dancer and model will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Michaela Tomanová was crowned Miss Universe Czech Republic 2025 (Miss Universe Czechia) on Wednesday, June 25 at Chateau de Frontiere in Hlohovec. The 27-year-old mother, model and scientist from Prague will represent the Czech Republic at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Completing the Top 4 finalists were Eva Brožková, Petra Šafránková, and Sarah Duong Vu Thi Thuy.
