Myanmar's Amara Bo is off to El Salvador for Miss Universe 2023


Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 Amara Bo departed Yangon International Airport on Wednesday, November 1 to compete in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador.

Wearing a stunning fuchsia pink outfit by Nwe Ni Win Maung, the beauty queen was joined by her supporters at the airport before her flight with Thai Airways.

According to the Miss Universe Myanmar organizers, due to some difficulties that resulted in the delay in obtaining her US transit visa, she will have a stopover in Vietnam before she continues her journey to the competition.

Amara will be the 13th Burmese representative in the Miss Universe pageant. She is currently one of the Top 10 contestants leading the fan vote.

Since its debut in the competition in 1959, her country's first and only placement so far is in the Top 21 with Thuzar Wint Lwin at Miss Universe 2020.

The 72nd Miss Universe will be held on November 18 in El Salvador's capital city of San Salvador.

Miss Southern Plains, Diane Westhoven was crowned Miss Alabama USA 2024 during the state final on Saturday, June 1 at Auburn University's Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center. Abbie Stockard from Vestavia Hills, Alabama was crowned Miss America 2025 on Sunday, January 5 at The Walt Disney Theater of the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida. The 22-year-old nursing student and cheerleader at Auburn University beat 51 other contestants to win the national title. Amadea Zupan was crowned Miss Slovenia 2024 (Miss World Slovenia) in a national competition held on Friday, January 10 in Lendava. China officially crowned two national queens for Miss Universe in one year. Two separate national events were held this year. Xinying Zhu from Anhui province was recently crowned Miss Universe China following an intense one-week competition in Zhangjiajie. The 18-year-old vocational student majoring to become a flight attendant at Suzhou Aviation Vocational College is expected to represent China at Miss Universe 2026.
