Noelia Voigt steps down as Miss USA 2023


Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt officially announced her shocking resignation as titleholder in a post on social media on Monday, May 6.

"I realize this may come as a large shock to many. Never compromise your physical and mental well-being. Our health is our wealth," she wrote.

"A million thank you's to all of you for your constant and unwavering support. Time to write the next chapter. I hope you’ll stick around to see what's next," she added.

The Miss USA organization also released a statement on social media: "We respect and support Noelia’s decision to step down from her duties. The well-being of our titleholders is a top priority, and we understand her need to prioritize herself at this time."

As for Noelia's replacement, the organization said, "We are currently reviewing plans for transferring responsibilities to a successor, and we will soon announce the crowning of the new Miss USA."

Noelia, a 24-year-old author and interior designer of Venezuelan descent was crowned the 72nd Miss USA while representing Utah last September in Nevada.

She went on to represent the United States of America at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador last November and made the Top 20 among 84 contestants.
