Meet the Top 16 finalists for Miss Universe Malaysia 2025


The Top 16 finalists vying for Miss Universe Malaysia 2025 have been officially revealed in a press conference held on Thursday, July 31 at Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Bangsar.

Former Miss Grand International Malaysia and runner-up of Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Charissa Chong was also announced as the new national director during the event.

"My goal is to ignite the potential within every Malaysian woman. With our 2025 tagline 'Redefining Your Journey,' we are creating a space where each finalist feels empowered to embrace her identity, celebrate our diversity, and pursue her dreams without limits," said the newly appointed director.

The open call for applications began on May 4, attracting hundreds of women from across the country. A closed-door and an online audition were held on 14 June and 18 June, with evaluations conducted by a panel of esteemed judges.

Contestants were assessed on intellect, cultural awareness, communication skills, poise, and confidence, with 26 shortlisted to proceed to the Top 16 voting stage.

This year's 16 finalists feature a remarkable lineup of women, from seasoned pageant veterans to first-time contestants with outstanding potential.

Among them are a postgraduate from Tsinghua University who has spoken at the United Nations, a medical doctor who served on international medical missions, and a former Mrs Malaysia World titleholder championing financial independence.

Other notable finalists include a TEDx speaker who established a foundation supporting refugee children's mental health and education, a dive trip coordinator and model, and a business strategist excelling in male-dominated fields like shooting sports and investment. 

The next Miss Universe Malaysia will represent her country at the 74th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2025) in Thailand this November.

Last year's winner who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2024, Sandra Lim, will crown her successor at the culmination of this year's pageant.

Miss Italia 2025 is Katia Buchicchio of Basilicata

Katia Buchicchio, representing Basilicata, was crowned Miss Italy 2025 on Monday, September 15 at PalaSavelli in Porto San Giorgio. The 18-year-old dentistry student from Anzi bested 39 other contestants to win the prestigious national title. Rhythmic gymnastics coach Asia Campanelli, 19, and modern literature student Fanny Tardioli, 24, placed second and third, respectively. Alessia Pelliccioni, Arianna Garofalo, Ludovica Lombardi, Alice Petagna, and Annarosa Cascone were the rest of the Top 8 finalists. USA's Midori Monet crowned Miss International Queen 2025

Midori Monet of the USA was crowned Miss International Queen 2025 on Saturday, September 20 at the Tiffany's Show Pattaya in Thailand. The 26-year-old stunner from Seattle, Washington bested 22 other beauties from around the world to win the prestigious international beauty title for transgender women. She succeeded last year's winner Catalina Marsano from Peru. Besides winning the highly coveted crown, she was also awarded the Preliminary Best Performance and Best National Costume. Kylie Chang crowned Miss California USA 2025

Miss Golden State, Kylie Chang was crowned Miss California USA 2025 on Saturday, August 10 at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells. The 20-year-old UC Berkeley student and model succeeded last year's winner Samantha Ramos. She became the first-ever East Asian woman to win Miss California USA. Miss USA 2025: Meet the contestants

Miss USA 2025, the much-awaited 74th Miss USA pageant will be held on Friday, October 24 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. This year's competition marks the fourth occasion it will take place in Reno after 2019, 2022, and 2023. Also, this will be the first edition under the leadership of the new Chairman, President, and CEO, Thom Brodeur. Miss America 2026 is Cassie Donegan of New York

Miss New York, Cassandra Donegan, was crowned Miss America 2026 on Sunday, September 7 at the Walt Disney Theater, Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida. The 27-year-old talented singer and actress bested 51 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She succeeds Abbie Stockard of Alabama. Sadie Schiermeyer of Texas was named first runner-up while Paris Richardson of Florida, Audrey Kittila of Georgia, and Emma Terry of Alabama were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Sarah Anjelica Dzafce bested nine other contestants to win Miss Suomi 2025 (Miss Universe Finland 2025) on Saturday, September 6 at Hybridiarena Hype in Espoo. The 26-year-old professional model and fashion sciences graduate from Anzio triumphed over 20 other contestants to win the national title. Hana Klaut was crowned Miss Universe Slovenia 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, September 3 at Odiseja in Ljubljana. The 29-year-old model and content creator from Šempeter pri Gorici will represent Slovenia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Katalina Simonič and Saša Poklukar were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Inti Kovačić was named Miss Odiseja 2025.
