Meet the Top 16 finalists for Miss Universe Malaysia 2025


The Top 16 finalists vying for Miss Universe Malaysia 2025 have been officially revealed in a press conference held on Thursday, July 31 at Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Bangsar.

Former Miss Grand International Malaysia and runner-up of Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Charissa Chong was also announced as the new national director during the event.

"My goal is to ignite the potential within every Malaysian woman. With our 2025 tagline 'Redefining Your Journey,' we are creating a space where each finalist feels empowered to embrace her identity, celebrate our diversity, and pursue her dreams without limits," said the newly appointed director.

The open call for applications began on May 4, attracting hundreds of women from across the country. A closed-door and an online audition were held on 14 June and 18 June, with evaluations conducted by a panel of esteemed judges.

Contestants were assessed on intellect, cultural awareness, communication skills, poise, and confidence, with 26 shortlisted to proceed to the Top 16 voting stage.

This year's 16 finalists feature a remarkable lineup of women, from seasoned pageant veterans to first-time contestants with outstanding potential.

Among them are a postgraduate from Tsinghua University who has spoken at the United Nations, a medical doctor who served on international medical missions, and a former Mrs Malaysia World titleholder championing financial independence.

Other notable finalists include a TEDx speaker who established a foundation supporting refugee children's mental health and education, a dive trip coordinator and model, and a business strategist excelling in male-dominated fields like shooting sports and investment. 

The next Miss Universe Malaysia will represent her country at the 74th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2025) in Thailand this November.

Last year's winner who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2024, Sandra Lim, will crown her successor at the culmination of this year's pageant.

Nadia Mejia-Webb crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025

Nadia Mejia-Webb, representing Comunidad USA, was crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 26 at Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil. The 29-year-old model and singer will now prepare to represent Ecuador at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Daphne Currat of Tungurahua and Christie Termidor of Región Sierra were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Christiane Marques of Guayaquil and Mariola Vejarano of Guayas rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark was a special guest at the pageant. Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 is Danielle Latimer

Danielle Latimer beat over 30 other contestants to win Miss Universe Great Britain 2025 on Saturday, July 26 at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. The 36-year-old entrepreneur, stylist and photographer will represent Great Britain at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Luissa Burton and Leigh Hutchinson were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Last year's winner Christina Chalk crowned her successor at the end of the event. Andrea Valero was crowned Miss Universe Spain 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, July 30 at Plaza de San Agustín in Los Realejos, Tenerife. The 28-year-old entrepreneur from Galicia will represent Spain at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. She succeeds last year's winner Michelle Jiménez. Miss Universe Japan 2025 is Kaori Hashimoto from Tochigi Prefecture

Kaori Hashimoto was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, July 16 in Shibuya. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Saki Fujita and Reina Ishii were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Chiemi Takayama and Naomi Monique Kamidate were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Miss Universe Chile 2025 is Inna Moll from Vitacura

Inna Moll, representing Vitacura, was crowned Miss Universe Chile 2025 in a national competitipn held on Friday, August 1 in Santiago. The 28-year-old model and influencer will now prepare to represent Chile at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Martina Kriskovich of Huechuraba was named first runner-up while María Jesús Honorato of Las Condes, Scarlett Hermosilla of Lo Barnechea, and Paula Jiménez of Providencia were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Yamilex Hernández crowned Miss Universe Latina 2025

Yamilex Hernández was proclaimed the winner of Miss Universe Latina 2025 during the culmination of Telemundo's "Miss Universe Latina, El Reality" on Monday, July 21. The 29-year-old Dominican model and host living in New Jersey received her crown and sash from former Miss Universe winners Alicia Machado and Andrea Meza. She will now prepare to represent the Latin community of the United States at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Apameh Schönauer was proclaimed Miss Germany 2024 in a glittering event held last February 24 at Europa-Park Arena in Rust, Germany. The 39-year-old Iranian-born mother and architect from Berlin edged out eight other participants to win the title. She succeeds last year's winner Kira Geiss. Aldana Masset was crowned Miss Universe Argentina 2025 on Sunday, May 25 at Mansión Tango in Buenos Aires. The 25-year-old singer and image consultant from the province of Entre Rios beat 27 other contestants to win the national title. Julieta Ricardez of La Pampa was named first runner-up while Judit Grnja of Chaco, Ayelen Torres of La Rioja, Carolina Danieri of Comunidad Extranjera, and Xiomara Menna of Misiones were the second, third, fourth and fifth runners-up, respectively.
