Miss Universe Philippines unveils brand-new La Mer En Majesté crown

A new crown was unveiled by Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH) at its gala night held at Hilton Manila in Pasay City on Tuesday, April 19. The pageant organization partnered with international luxury brand Jewelmer to envision the La Mer En Majesté crown as an homage to the sea. It features the South Sea Pearl, the national gem of the Philippines. A new queen will wear the illustrious masterpiece during the final competition of Miss Universe Philippines 2022 this April 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Last year's winner Beatrice Luigi Gomez will crown her successor among 32 contestants. The next queen will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant later this year. Reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu will be present at the event as a special guest. She will be joined by former queens Pia Wurtzbach, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi-Leigh Tebow. Transgender woman enters Top 10 of Miss Nederland 2022

A transgender woman, Solange Dekker, made history after entering the Top 10 of Miss Nederland 2022 (Miss Universe Netherlands 2022) in a casting held in Amsterdam on Saturday, April 16. The casting event took place at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. Former Miss Nederland winners Zoey Ivory, Rahima Dirkse, and Denise Speelman were part of the judging panel. "I really can't describe in words how proud I am of myself, how incredibly grateful I am for the organization for this opportunity as the first trans woman in NL, and how happy I am with all the girls I've met," Solange shared on social media. Another beauty was surprisingly added to the official Top 70 contestants of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 competition. The emotional announcement was made during the first episode of the reality TV show "I am Miss Universe Vietnam 2022" which aired on Saturday, April 16. Do Nhat Ha from Ho Chi Minh City made history as the first-ever transgender woman to be accepted as an official contestant after she received an honorary golden ticket from the organizing committee. No stranger to pageantry, Ha was Miss Tiffany Vietnam 2018 and a Top 6 finalist at Miss International Queen 2019, the biggest international beauty pageant for transgender women which is based in Thailand. The Top 70 official contestants who are vying for the title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 have been officially announced. Every Saturday starting April 16, the "I am Miss Universe Vietnam 2022" reality TV show will air on VTV9, local channels, and exclusively on the UNI NETWORK Youtube channel. The first episode "CATCH YOUR CHANCE" will start at 8:15 p.m. local time. Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 final competition will take place this June and the winner will represent Vietnam at the 71st Miss Universe edition (Miss Universe 2022) later this year. The Top 15 official finalists of Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 were officially announced in a closed-door event held last March 29 at the MyEG auditorium in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. After last year's national competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MUMO national director Datin Elaine Daly said they are back bigger, better and stronger this year. The 22-year-old Indian beauty queen received the award looking gorgeous in a metallic one-shoulder gown by Gaurav Gupta. "I just won Grazia's award and it's out of this world. After 3 years, Catriona Gray's wax figure was finally unveiled at Madame Tussauds wax museum at the Imbiah Lookout of Sentosa Island in Singapore on Wednesday, March 30. During the launching of the first and so far the only Filipino wax figure to be featured in the Singapore museum, the former Miss Universe looked stunning in a metal assemblage dress by Jaggy Glarino. "I'm so honored and flattered to be the only Filipino wax figure here in MT Singapore," Catriona shared on social media. The game is officially on for Miss Universe Philippines 2022 as the Top 50 official delegates have been announced today on the pageant's official social media page. From 50, only 30 will move on to the final competition on April 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila. The winner will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2022. Several beauties who have previously held national titles were spotted on the list including former Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Katrina Llegado, Miss Earth Philippines Celeste Cortesi, and Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee.
