Korina Emmanouilidou (Κορίνα Εμμανουήλιδου) was named Star GS Hellas 2022 (Miss Universe Greece) on Thursday, September 29 at the Lohan Night Club in Athens. She succeeded last year's titleholder, Sofia Arapogianni. The 22-year-old model, aesthetician, and makeup artist from Thessaloniki will now represent Greece at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA this January. Manhunt International 2022 world final will be held this Saturday, October 1 at Okada, Manila, the Philippines. Paola Vergara Farez of Ecuador was crowned Reina Mundial del Banano 2022 (World Banana Queen) on Saturday, September 24 in Machala, El Oro Province. The 23-year-old social communication graduate bested 13 other contestants to succeed Ellen Pimienta Glen during the 57th edition of the international pageant for banana producing countries. She also bagged the Miss Photogenic awards. In second place and named Virreina Mundial del Banano was the representative of Alemanya (Germany), an 18-year-old student Taya Wolf. Miss Colombia, Geraldine Quiroz Bermudes was announced the second runner-up, while Miss Honduras, Ana Grisell Romero Najera, and Miss Brazil, Maria Rita Dos Santos, were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Iran 2022 Mahrou Ahmadi has been officially announced to represent her country at the Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines this November. The 24-year-old beauty will be the second Iranian representative at Miss Earth and the first one to participate in a live competition. Last year's Miss Iran, Hima Zaker, the first-ever Miss Earth Iran, joined the virtual edition during the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid the chaos in her country resulting from the tragic death of a young woman named Mahsa Amini, the new Miss Earth Iran promised to be the voice of her fellow people especially the girls, on the international stage, and she said: I stand with the women of Iran. The 24-year-old beauty from San Carlos is a model, civil engineer, and trilingual. She succeeds Valeria Rees and will represent Costa Rica at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana this January. Kristell Ruiz Freeman, 25, and Mariella Conejo Benavides, 27, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Costa Rica is no stranger to pageantry. She was named Miss Earth Costa Rica 2017 and participated in the Miss Earth 2017 pageant held in the Philippines. Amber Koelewijn was crowned Miss World Nederland 2022 (Miss World Netherlands) in a glittering event that took place on Wednesday, September 28 at the De Koning Party & Events in Amsterdam. The 17-year-old all-around beautician from Bunschoten-Spakenburg bested 11 other finalists to win the national competition. Nova Cheyen, 17, from Rotterdam, and Robey Bruins, 21, from Haaksbergen, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Amber, who advocates against cyberbullying, was also the Talent and Top Model winner. She succeeds Lizzy Dobbe and will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at the 71st Miss World pageant.
