Miss Universe 2022: Meet the delegates from Canada, Colombia, Malta and the Philippines


Miss Universe 2022 will be the 71st edition of the Miss Universe pageant and around 10 delegates have already been selected to represent their respective countries and territories.

Who will succeed India's Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu as Miss Universe?

Here are the delegates from Canada, Colombia, Malta, and the Philippines:


Miss Universe Canada 2022 is Chinese-Canadian Amelia Tu who hails from Vancouver, BC. She is 20-year-old biology and business student at Universe of California, Berkeley who enjoys exploring different genres of dance.


Miss Universe Colombia 2022 María Fernanda Aristizábal is a 24-year-old model and social communicator from Quindio. She won the Señorita Colombia title in 2019 and was expected to compete in Miss Universe 2020 but unfortunately, the national franchise changed owners and a first-ever Miss Universe Colombia competition took place in Barranquilla.


Miss Universe Malta 2022 Maxine Formosa Gruppetta is a 21-year-old legal assistant from St. Julian's. She was named second runner-up during last year's Miss Universe Malta competition.


Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi is a 24-year-old Filipino-Italian model who represented Pasay City in the recently held Miss Universe Philippines 2022 competition. She was a Miss Philippines Earth winner and placed in the Top 8 at Miss Earth 2018.

The Miss Universe Organization has yet to announce the official date and venue of this year's competition.

Tonight, the inaugural edition of the Miss Cosmo pageant will take place at the Saigon Riverside Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Fifty-six contestants from around the world will be competing for the crown, 100,000 US dollars in cash, and a luxury apartment in Vietnam for one year. Tonight's grand final show will be hosted by former Miss International Kylie Verzosa from the Philippines and Vietnamese award-winning TV personality Bui Duc Bao. Phan Le Hoang An and Vinh Phu are the commentators. Miss Universe 2024: Meet the contestants

Miss Universe 2024, the 73rd Miss Universe pageant will be held on November 16 at the the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. The country known for its rich culture, ancient ruins, dazzling beaches, and incredible cuisine has been chosen to host the competition for the fifth time after 1978, 1989, 1993, and 2007. A total of 114 national queens have been crowned up to this point and are all set to compete in this year's highly anticipated beauty pageant. Daumier Corilla of the Philippines was proclaimed Mister Global 2024 on Sunday, October 6 at MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand. The 28-year-old model, actor, and host bested over 30 other contestants to become the first-ever Filipino winner of the international male pageant. Manuel Romo of Spain and Favour Ogbuokiri of Nigeria were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Luiz Mascarenhas of Brazil and Patrick Pho-ngam Forstner of Thailand rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Valeria Vasilieva was crowned Miss Universe Estonia 2024 in a glittering national competition held on Tuesday, October 1 in Tallinn. The 22-year-old entrepreneur, actress, and designer bested 10 other finalists to win the title. She was crowned by former titleholder, Miss Universe Estonia 2012 Natalie Korneitsik. Miss Universe Hong Kong 2024 is Joanne Rhodes

After a 23-year hiatus, Hong Kong is set to return to the Miss Universe stage this year with Miss Universe Hong Kong 2024 Joanne Rhodes. The 24-year-old art advisor and model edged out 15 other finalists to win the competition on September 26 at the Go Park Sai Sha. Aside from the crown, she also bagged the Fan Favorite and Miss Photogenic awards. Yan Kiu and Juliette Louie were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Hong Kong's last participation at Miss Universe was in 2000 with Hong Kongese actress and model Sonija Kwok. Its highest placement was second runner-up in 1954 with Virginia June Lee. The 20-year-old student from Bali beat over 50 other contestants to win the inaugural edition of the pageant. Apart from the crown, she also bagged the Cosmo Beauty Icon Award. Ofir Natalie Korsia was crowned Miss Universe Israel 2024 in a national competition held on Sunday, September 29 at the Hilton Aventura Miami in Florida. The 23-year-old actress, dancer, and model from Rishon LeZion will now prepare to represent Israel at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. This year's event marked the return of Israel to the Miss Universe pageant after a 2-year hiatus. A total of eight contestants competed for the crown.
