Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023: Meet the 38 pre-selected contestants


Following rounds of auditions, thirty-eight contestants have been pre-selected to take part in the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 competition.

This year's pageant will be the 67th edition whose winner will represent the Caribbean island later this year at Miss Universe 2023 in San Salvador, El Salvador.

For the first time in history, a transgender contestant (Daniela Arroyo González) qualified to compete for the coveted national title.

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 and Miss Universe Top 5 finalist Ashley Cariño will crown her successor at the end of the competition with the final date and venue yet to be announced.

Bryoni Govender has been appointed as Miss Supranational South Africa 2024 and will represent her country at Miss Supranational 2024. The Miss South Africa organization announced on Thursday, April 11. "This opportunity is a profound honour, marking a pivotal moment in my journey. It's a reminder that while some doors may close, others open wide, inviting us to step into new experiences," Bryoni shared on social media. "This chance to represent South Africa is not just a personal milestone but also a platform to advocate for the cause close to my heart on an international stage," she added. "I am committed to making the most of this opportunity, turning every challenge into a stepping stone towards success and every moment into a chance to make a lasting impact." Miss Monroe County, Kaylee Brooke McCollum, was crowned Miss Mississippi USA 2024 during the state competition held on Saturday, April 6 at Pearl River Resort in Choctaw. The 22-year-old registered nurse succeeds last year's winner Sydney Russell and will now prepare to represent Mississippi at Miss USA 2024 in California this August. The beautiful contestants vying for Miss Universe Bahamas 2024 were officially revealed on Friday, April 12 online. Ten women have been selected for the opportunity to compete for the national title currently held by last year's winner Melissa Ingraham . Miss Universe Netherlands 2024: Meet the Top 16 finalists

From 60 beauties who participated during the casting day, only 16 will now move on as finalists for Miss Universe Netherlands 2024. The selection event and official announcement of the Top 16 finalists took place on Saturday, April 13 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. Previously held by Monica van Ee of the Miss Nederland organization, the license for Miss Universe Netherlands has been taken over this year by Milou Verhoeks of the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands. Last year's winner under Miss Nederland was Rikkie Valerie Kollé , the first-ever transgender woman to represent the Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant. Danika Christopherson, representing The Village, was crowned Miss Oklahoma USA 2024 on Sunday, April 14 at OCCC Performing Arts Center Theater in Oklahoma City Community College. The 23-year-old former Miss Oklahoma Teen USA succeeds last year's winner Liv Walbeck. She will now prepare for the Miss USA 2024 competition to be held in California this summer. Miss RNB España 2024 is Elizabeth Laker from Tenerife

Elizabeth Laker was crowned Miss RNB España 2024 (Miss Supranational Spain 2024) on Saturday, April 13 at Teatre Auditori de Salou (TAS). The 25-year-old personal trainer and makeup artist from Arona, Tenerife succeeds last year's winner Lola Wilson. Martina Suárez of Valencia and Ainara Martínez of La Rioja were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The contestants from Badajoz, Paula Críspulo, Ourense, Carolina Barroso, and Pontevedra, Iris Miguélez, rounded out the Top 6 finalists. The final group of national finalists for Miss Universe Australia 2024 was revealed during the South Australia state final on Monday, April 8 at Feathers Hotel in Burnside.
