Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023: Meet the contestants

A total of 33 beauties, officially presented last May 16, have been selected to compete for the title of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023.

The preliminary competition will take place on August 20 while the national final will air live on August 24 from the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in San Juan.

Ashley Cariño, last year's winner who placed in the Top 5 at Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans, will crown her successor at the end of the event.

The next Miss Universe Puerto Rico will participate in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador later this year.

Peru's Luciana Vasquez crowned Teen Universe 2024

Luciana Vasquez from Peru was crowned Teen Universe 2024 on Sunday, April 28 in a glittering competition held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The 18-year-old fashion model and student from Iquitos, a city in the region of Loreto, succeeds last year's winner from Mexico,  Mariana García . Valentina Colmenares of Venezuela was the first runner-up while Maria Eugênia Raposo of Brazil, Ana Paredes of Spain, and Ziari Ruiz of Nicaragua were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Aside from the new Teen Universe, Lana Collantes of the Philippines was also crowned Teen Universe Petite 2024 while the representative of Latina USA, Natalie Grace, clinched the title Pre-Teen Universe 2024. This year's event marked the 13th edition of Teen Universe, an international pageant for teenage girls from different backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles around the world. Breea Yamat was crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2024 during the state final competition held on Friday, April 19 at Royal Hawaii Center Theater. The 27-year-old Mexican-Filipina beauty from Oahu will now prepare to represent Hawaii at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California in August. The Miss Republica Dominicana 2024 (Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2024) final will be held this Sunday, May 5 at Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo. Miss Delaware USA 2024 is Alysa Bainbridge

Miss Newark, Alysa Bainbridge, was crowned Miss Delaware USA 2024 during the state final on Sunday, April 28 at Laird Performing Arts Center in Wilmington. The 25-year-old public speaker, host, and mental health advocate will now prepare to represent Delaware at Miss USA 2024 in Hollywood, California this summer. She succeeds last year's winner Noa Mills. No stranger to pageantry, Alysa was the winner of Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen 2016. In 2022, she became Miss Pennsylvania and went to Miss America 2023 in Connecticut last December. The new Miss Delaware USA was born and raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor's degree in communication studies from Saint Joseph's University and a master's in leadership from Cabrini University. Alysa is an adovocate for mental health and recovery. She founded the nonprofit Tyler's Triumph in memory of her brother, to help people triumph over mental health and substance use disorders. View this

Miss World Guatemala 2024 is Jeymi Escobedo

Jeymi Escobedo was crowned Miss World Guatemala 2024 during the glittering Miss Guatemala 2024 final on Wednesday, May 1 at Teatro Dick Smith in Guatemala City. The 18-year-old, representing the department of Suchitepéquez, succeeds  Marcela Miranda and will now prepare to represent Guatemala at the 72nd Miss World. Also crowned during the event were the representatives of the country for Miss International 2024, Miss Grand International 2024, and Reina Hispanoamericana 2024. The title Miss International Guatemala 2024 went to Helen Morales while Cristina Gonzalo and Elizabeth Blanco were the Miss Grand Guatemala 2024 and Reina Hispanoamericana 2024, respectively. The Miss Universe Curacao 2024 final coronation will be held on May 25 at Sandals Royal Curacao in Willemstad. A total of 10 beauties are currently vying for the national title. One of them will succeed last year's winner  Kim Rossen  who participated in Miss Universe 2023 last November in El Salvador. Miss Universe Germany 2024 is Pia Theissen

Pia Theissen was crowned Miss Universe Germany 2024 on Sunday, April 28 at Living Hotel de Medici in Düsseldorf. The 25-year-old social worker, occupational therapist and yoga teacher from Cologne will now prepare to represent Germany at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico later this year. Annabelle Keller and Ilke Filiz were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Angelina Matic, Jennifer Monreal, and Tatjana Genrich rounded out the Top 6 finalists. Miss Universe Netherlands' national director Milou Verhoeks, reigning Miss Denmark Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen, and former Miss Universe Germany Soraya Kohlmann were among the judges. The new Miss Universe Germany succeeds last year's winner  Helena Bleicher , who participated in Miss Universe 2023 last November in El Salvador. Wearing a fuchsia one-shoulder dress, the beauty queen arrived on Wednesday, May 1 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 via Philippine Airlines. Ukraine's Angelina Usanova crowned Miss Eco International 2024

Angelina Usanova from Ukraine was crowned Miss Eco International 2024 on Sunday, April 28 at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter bested over 40 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeds last year's winner from Vietnam, Nguyen Thanh Ha. Chantal Schmidt of the Philippines was announced first runner-up while Nikita Dani of Canada, Fabiane Alcarde Goia of Brazil, and Valerie Avril of Indonesia were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
