Miss Universe Ukraine 2023 Angelina Usanova officially crowned


Angelina Usanova was officially crowned as Miss Universe Ukraine 2023 in a special ceremony held on Thursday, September 7 at the National Botanical Garden in Kyiv.

The 26-year-old singer-songwriter received her crown from last year's titleholder Viktoria Apanasenko, who won Best in National Costume and the Spirit of Carnival award during the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans last January.

At the end of the coronation event, Angelina performed her own song which translates as "Our prayers will be heard" and another one, "Hold on to your own" with talented Ukrainian pianist Dmytro Shurov.

The new Miss Universe Ukraine was appointed for the national title last month following rounds of online screenings. A physical competition was not held due to the ongoing armed conflict situation in Ukraine.

Angelina has already started her preparations and training in the United States to represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November.

"Incredibly happy and grateful to the universe for the opportunity to accept the title 'Miss Universe Ukraine' in a very special place for my soul," she shared online.

"The crown handed to me is not just a piece of jewelry made of gold, topazes, and diamonds, it is a symbol of the huge responsibility that each Miss Universe Ukraine takes over — to carry the yellow-blue flag with dignity and to represent our country in the best possible way in front of the whole Universe."

Miss Universe New Zealand 2025 is Abbigail Sturgin

Lao-Kiwi Abbigail Sturgin was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand 2025 on Tuesday, June 24 at the SkyCity Theatre in Auckland. The 28-year-old police officer succeeds last year's winner Victoria Velasquez Vincent and will represent New Zealand at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Nathalie Yasmin Mogbelzada, representing Noord-Holland, was proclaimed the winner of Miss Universe Netherlands 2025 on Saturday, July 5 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. The 28-year-old beauty from Amsterdam was crowned by her predecessor  Faith Landman and will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Camille Sabina Thomas was proclaimed the winner of Miss Universe Curacao 2025 last June 7 at the Sandals Royal Resort in Santa Barbara. Pastry chef and model Swann Lavigne from France was proclaimed Mister Supranational 2025 on Saturday, June 28 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
