Miss Universe 2023 contestants experience the vibrant culture and captivating beauty of El Salvador

The fourth day of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant was filled with exciting activities for the contestants from tasting local food to experiencing the beauty El Salvador has to offer.

A group of contestants went to Parque Cuscatlán to learn more about the vibrant culture and traditions through the Festival de Tradiciones (Traditions Festival) prepared by First Lady Gabriela de Bukele.

Another group was taken on a helicopter ride to Playa Maculis before boarding a yacht to the Golfo de Fonseca (Gulf of Fonseca) where they basked in the sun and enjoyed the breathtaking landscapes.

"I had an absolute blast exploring the pristine waters of El Salvador today. From a chopper ride from San Salvador taking in the breathtaking aerial views of land, all the way to making memories on the Casa del Golfo resort and yacht," Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee posted online.

Several contestants were also brought to the wonderful city of Suchitoto where they had the opportunity to enjoy Salvadorian cuisine and explore its history and culture. They also learned the technique of dyeing at Añil.

Miss Universe Nepal Jane Dipika Garrett shared: "We just went to Suchitoto, a small town in El Salvador where Indigo is very famous. We learned the history of indigo, which is a plant that is used for color dyeing and we learned how to make it. It was such an amazing experience to see the history and explore the town."

"The food is delicious. First time trying this and I love this. This is cocoa and I love chocolate so it's great," Miss Universe Croatia Andrea Erjavec said after trying one of the local foods.

In the afternoon, another group of contestants was warmly welcomed at the Centro Histórico de San Salvador (historic downtown) where they had the chance to explore the Palacio Nacional de El Salvador (National Palace of El Salvador).

The day's activities ended with an exciting visit to Surf City where the beauties enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon at its Sunset Park followed by a beautiful display of fireworks.

"Loving all the beauty the country has to offer. You have to visit El Salvador and Surf City is one of those places you can't miss," said Miss Universe Puerto Rico Karla Guilfú Acevedo.

Miss Universe 2023 will be held on November 18 at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador. R'Bonney Gabriel of the USA will crown her successor at the end of the event.
