The swimsuit competition of the Miss Philippines Earth 2024 pageant was held on Saturday, May 4 at the Malitbog Cultural Center in Malitbog, Bukidnon. Irha Mel Alfeche of Matanao, Davao del Sur won the gold medal while Ira Patricia Malaluan of Batangas City and Sam Samara of Makati City were the silver and bronze medalists. The Miss Philippines Earth 2024 talent competition was held on Sunday, May 5 at Northern Highlands Resort in Buru-un, Iligan City. Hosted by former Miss Earth Karla Henry and Mister Continental International Tourism 2018 Erik Karcher, the event showcased the incredible talents of this year's contestants. Kristel Anne Codas of Iligan City bagged the gold medal while the beauties from Baungon, Bukidnon, Chaoncy Rich Azucena, and Davao City, Reca Mae Abueva were awarded the silver and bronze, respectively. Maya Dmitri was crowned Miss International Sri Lanka 2024 in a special ceremony held on Sunday, May 5 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Colombo. The 20-year-old model and software engineering student will now prepare to represent her country at Miss International 2024 in  Tokyo, Japan this November. Reigning Puteri Indonesia Harashta Haifa Zahra has been officially designated by the Puteri Indonesia organization as Miss Supranational Indonesia 2024. The 20-year-old environmental engineering student was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2024 while representing Jawa Barat (West Java) in Jakarta last March. She will represent Indonesia at Miss Supranational 2024 to be held in Nowy Sącz, Poland this July. Her runners-up Sophie Kirana, Ketut Permata Juliastrid Sari, and Melati Tedja were awarded the titles Miss International Indonesia, Miss Cosmo Indonesia, and Miss Charm Indonesia 2024, respectively. The Miss Universe Philippines organization has just announced Jeannie Mai as one of the hosts of the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024 final show. Jeannie will join former Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel of the USA and Filipino actor Alden Richards in hosting the highly anticipated event. The Emmy award-winning TV personality was a backstage correspondent for the Miss Universe pageant in 2011, 2012, and 2013 then co-hosted the 2022 and 2023 editions. The Top 5 contestants for the up close and personal interview challenge of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 competition have been announced. According to the Miss Universe Philippines organization, the finalists for the challenge were determined purely by public votes via the official app of the pageant. The Top 5 contestants were Patricia Bianca Tapia of Hawaii, Alexie Mae Brooks of Iloilo City, Stephanie Faye Gerona of Quirino, Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province, and Christi Lynn McGarry of Taguig City. Only one winner, to be revealed during the upcoming finals, will automatically earn a place as a semifinalist. Zrinka Ćorić was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2024 in a glittering show held on Monday, May 6 at Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb. The 22-year-old beauty from Dubrovnik succeeds last year's winner Andrea Erjavec and will now prepare to represent Croatia at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico later this year. Marta Leković was named first runner-up while Lana Vuković, Claudia Mihoković, and Sofya Kotava were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. This year's event marked the 28th edition of the annual Miss Universe Croatia pageant. Croatia has yet to win the Miss Universe crown since its debut at the pageant in 1997 with Kristina Čerina. The Miss Universe Philippines 2024 national costume competition was held last April 28 at Provincial Capitol Gym in Sultan Kudarat. Out of 53 colorful and spectacular costumes inspired by the rich flora and fauna of the Philippines as this year's theme, only three winners have been announced. The winning costumes were from Alexie Mae Brooks of Iloilo, Janet Hammond of Southern California, and Tamara Ocier of Tacloban. They each received P100,000 in cash. The beauty queen from Nicaragua arrived in the Philippines on May 1 as part of her Asia Tour and as a special guest of the Miss Universe Philippines organization.
