Lalela Mswane to represent South Africa at Miss Supranational 2022


Miss South Africa Organization has officially announced that Lalela Mswane will be sent to the 13th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant.

The 24-year-old beauty was crowned Miss South Africa last October in Cape Town. She went on to participate in the 70th Miss Universe pageant last December in Israel and placed second runner-up among 80 contestants.

Miss South Africa CEO Stephanie Weil said, "We are super excited about this year’s edition of Miss Supranational and that Lalela will represent us at this prestigious event."

“We once again call on all South Africans to show their support and we believe she will make us all proud,” she added.

The new Miss Supranational South Africa is a proud Zulu woman who hails from KwaSokhulu, in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. She is a professional model, ballerina, and holds a law degree.

Miss Supranational 2022 is expected to be held in Poland this July, where Chanique Rabe of Namibia will hand over the crown to her successor at the end of the event.

Lalela will not be the first Miss South Africa winner who competed in more than one international pageant. Others were Jo-Ann Strauss, Megan Coleman, Tansey Coetzee, Bokang Montjane, Marilyn Ramos, and most recently Ntandoyenkosi Kunene.

Miss Universe Philippines 2025, the sixth edition of the annual pageant has culminated last night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Heavy favorite Maria Ahtisa Manalo, 27, from Candelaria, Quezon Province, bagged the crown among 66 contestants following a tough competition. She will compete in Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. The Philippines last won the Miss Universe crown in 2018 with Catriona Gray when the pageant was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Tonight, 66 of the world's most beautiful and empowered Filipinas will vie for the highly coveted title of Miss Universe Philippines 2025. Firsta Yufi Amarta Putri was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2025 on Saturday, May 2 at the Plenary Hall of the Jakarta International Convention Center in Jakarta. A total of 45 contestants from across the country battled it out to win the national title but the 23-year-old representative of Jawa Timur (East Java) emerged as the top winner. Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 on Friday, May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The 27-year-old from  Candelaria bested 65 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Ahtisa is a former  Binibining Pilipinas International titleholder who went on to place first runner-up at the Miss International 2018 competition in Japan. She eventually joined Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and finished second runner-up. The national organization then awarded her the title of Miss Cosmo Philippines. The Mister Pilipinas Worldwide 2025 national final was held on Monday, April 28 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. Seven deserving winners who will represent the Philippines at various international male pageants have been chosen among 26 contestants. Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. Kunda Mwamulima was crowned Miss Universe Zambia 2025 on Saturday, April 20 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) in Lusaka. The 29-year-old registered nurse and model will now prepare to represent Zambia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Kunda is a former Miss Earth Zambia titleholder who competed in Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam. She also joined the Top Model of the World competition in Egypt and made the Top 16.
